The Skylark's Song
The Skylark's Song
His heart sings in the eternal glee,
With the splattering notes on the woody bark,
The raindrops fall on the leafless tree,
Quenching the thirst of a parched Skylark.
Engrossed in thoughts like a swan she sits,
Wandering wondrously in her thoughts for long,
Her gaze affix, across the window sills,
Rejoicing her heart at the Skylark's song,
He sings of love and of life’s longing,
As the rain plays orchestra across the window pane,
He sings of separation and of mystical melodies,
As the raindrops dance in the deserted lane.
Pouring nectar from the heavenly glass,
You alleviate the spirits of a lonely lass!
