Soul colors
Soul colors
A zest of colors merge.
He sees through her.
Stands still, unpredictable,
His blue eyes lost.
She frails through the pink,
cerulean and the fluorescing
yellows of life.
Smiling back at him.
It hurts to let him go
and stay all the same.
There is no solace
In hoping for the grave.
For he will never come back
and she’s holding time…
In the hope that he will!
She knows he will!
Her deep glassy eyes
Look in the mirror,
Waiting for him
To stand behind her.
She longs a glance,
A comforting touch,
Cursing destiny that sent
them to the parting dance.
His livid deportment,
Has left her wailing.
She tries to bless him through
Her pain
and knows well
it is her respite. For bonds
Like this last forever.
He is part of her ‘soul crew’!
Someday she will see him
Smile at life, as she did
Through the misty fog.
Someday he will see
What she was to him
Beyond the gates of her hell,
Guarded by the black dog.
But now, oh now, the water
Is still! The road seems
So uphill. If only it wasn’t
Tumultuous, Winding.
If only it was real to be
with him in his arms hearing
Their wedding bell chiming!
But it isn’t, yet she waits
On the same path where she
First met him. This time with a gift.
Her heart in a glass coffin.
It still bears his name.
Just the same,
Oh, yes! It beats just the same!
