Happiness

Happiness

1 min 79 1 min 79

A beautiful morning today,

Woke up, took a walk,

Had some coffee lazying away,

And then some small talk!

Daily News at a glance,

Coupled with some music play,

Happiness, not mere happenstance,

Conscious effort on display!

Avoiding negativity at all cost,

Feeling much inspired,

Consciously forgetting what's lost,

Living the life much desired!

Life is a rollercoaster,

Ups and downs part of it.

But let's not blame the star,

Never ever dare to quit.

For winners don't quit,

And quitters don't win,

When the time is legit,

Fortune does a spin!

Once it so happened,

There was a man standing,

On the Howrah Bridge and

Trying a suicidal landing!

I apprehended him,

And reprimanded for being,

A slave to crazy whim!

He knelt down probably feeling,

The pinch of what I said

And started sharing his ordeal,

Of the terrible life he led!

Was subjected to a raw deal!

But then I reminded,

That destruction comes easy,

Once the mind is blinded,

But construction not easy!

Takes years to take shape,

Lots of toil and sweat,

To get that perfect landscape!

He was still upset!

When everything tends to fail,

A hug usually does the trick,

I hugged his frame, frail,

Amidst whispers that he was a lunatic.

Not that it bothered me much,

Could feel his warm tears,

Soaking my soul such,

As I allayed all his fears.

Had been sipping tea,

As I looked outside, smiling.

There he was, I could see,

Happy with helping me with gardening.
