A letter

A poignant letter, lost in time's refrain,
Once wet with dew, now faded like a summer's rain.
Yet, the rustle of paper stirs the past,
Memories awakened, forever to last.

In life's monotony, I'd lost my way,
Forgotten dreams, like autumn leaves, gone astray.
But then, a gentle breeze swept through my soul,
And I felt the embers of love, still warm and whole.

In a corner, far from the world's loud din,
I'd made my home, where shadows softly spin.
A faint light crept in, and illuminated the space,
A letter, penned long ago, with words that still hold pace.

I read it to the end, where courage was the theme,
The final words, now blurred, like tears in a dream.
The letter's end, a reflection of my heart's plight,
A message of hope, in the darkness of night.

The words, like pearls, once strung with care,
Now scattered, like memories, beyond repair.
Yet, in the silence, I hear a gentle voice,
A whisper of promise, a heartfelt, mournful choice.
