Ten Years
Ten Years
Ten Years
Ten years of longing, a silent adoration,
A flower, afar, yet, in constant contemplation,
I know it's not mine, this bloom so divine,
A cherished dream, etched in my heart's shrine.
A decade's desire, not easily undone,
A fleeting glance, a memory, forever won,
I accept my fate, this flower's not for me,
I must convince myself, to set my heart free.
This longing, a chapter, now closed,
A farewell, to the year, and the love, it disclosed,
I was a fool, in love's delusion, lost,
Shattering myself, to craft a memory, at what cost?
When she doesn't care, why this turmoil, this pain?
Bid farewell, let go, and break the chain,
A moment's ache, a lifetime's gain,
Freedom from this strange, unrequited love's refrain.
Choose happiness, and walk away,
Leave the flower, and claim an empty bay,
A garden, bare, yet, mine to possess,
A new beginning, and a heart, at rest, and blessed.
