Awakening

As he embraced her, she felt it was not that usual kind of hug. It seemed as if he wanted to linger on....clinging to her like a desolate child, his hands digging deep into the soft skin of her back as if he was trying to anchor his tired soul.

She held on to him. Somewhere deep inside her, it ignited a passionate protective instinct. Those few minutes seemed like he wanted to shed all his loads on her and she was most willingly taking it off, no words said, no glances exchanged. Then, slowly his body slowly relaxed, the stress lines disappeared from his forehead and he smiled. At that very moment, she felt strong, very strong! she was his sole and soul partner, his strength, his anchor!
