The shrieking sound of the old rusty alarm clock woke her up with a startle. She pulled out her weary arm from the warm confines of the muddy brown quilt and stretched her hands to shut down the ugly noise. It always sounded like a sinister war trumpet to her.

Wearily she dragged her aching body out of the bed. The last night there had been six of them in a row. She had to bear them on her thin frame without a whine, playing like a puppet to their grotesque fantasies and wishes. Laughing and smiling to their vulgar jokes when in the core of her heart she wanted to push them out of the window of the third floor of her dingy abode.

Abode, not home. Home was left behind eight years ago when she was sold by her uncle to the 'Madam'. Eight long years, every day she was living through this hell and every day she thought of running away but then where? Will they accept her now?

She had come to this tinsel town with dreams in her eyes when she was 18. She always knew she was beautiful like the models shown in the television. Her uncle told her no one will know her worth here. She will just land up getting married to some weird looking guy and will end her life washing clothes and utensils. "Oh no! This was totally unacceptable, I deserve better. I am no less than these models. I deserve to live like a queen."

Ha! Ha! and "Queen" she became. The name given to her by 'Madam' as she was the most 'in demand'. With a sarcastic grin she looked at herself in the mirror, the once 'Beautiful' girl had changed into a hollow eyed, dark and skinny woman with numerous cuts and bruises not only on her face and body but on her heart too. She felt like howling out loud but just wiped the cascading tears on her face with a hurting stroke of her hand and started putting make up for her daily show...
