Red the colour for life

According to me, there are many things that have been overlooked when it comes to talking about gender and health as 1. When a woman is working in a kitchen then it's usual and if a man does the same then it may be the woman who makes her husband do all the work. 2. It's always brought to us that "behind every successful man there is a woman!" but did anyone ask 'why just behind?' 3. If a woman is sick and does all that she needs to do it's her duty but when a man is sick than probably it's because he is working and taking care of the whole family and he needs rest! 4. Boys are always taught since their ripe age that 'Boys don't cry!' But did anyone teach a girl that 'No boy will ever make you cry?' 5. A man wants to marry a girl whose virgin but it's not necessary for him to be one but if he isn't a virgin then there's a girl out there who is facing problems because of him! Why does it not apply to all? 6. If a girl takes a leave it from the office obviously she's bleeding but no one cares, she is fired.

Menstruation is not all about blood! It's a treat of 5-7 days to every girl whose daughter, a sister, a woman, a wife, a mother. Red is the color that every newborn got but the strongest of all was a woman and she got it to give life on the earth. These seven days of every month a girl gets herself ready to the strongest to live and stays weak with the pain. Every day is a struggle for her until and unless she has got a back to love her these few days with some extra effort and care. A new month and she is all anxious to tick a date in the home calendar. No whites to wear, no festivals to celebrate, no outings or dates because she is all in the phase that is made difficult for her. She needs is a hug from no one but her closed ones. But menstruation has got many names so-called to be famous but still, society got its different rules and aims to get the girls back to their levels. Society is the only one who talks to, for, by everyone but meets none and women are blamed for all the 7 days that enter her life from the age of 12 to the age she gets old to see her kids grown-up to a teenager. But no one understands or underestimates the kind of discomfort she goes through to be happy. All these days she keeps her self and the surrounding clean to get rid of any future disease. Feels like eating nothing even her all-time favorite snacks, calls up her bestie, and talks to feel better! Her every month days remind her of the first day when she actually had zero ideas of the word called 'Periods'. Getting up late, making every 5 days as a Sunday with no break, canceling a previous plan made by her just because her periods have occurred and she is having a mood of. Smiling the whole day at school, she is back home changing her pads and making herself comfortable. Running for a missed bus she is back in her room and having a bath. Life seems to be normal having some scoops of favorite ice-cream flavor, or some sips of coconut juice and getting back into the bed with watching some favorite movies. But there's a problem if she is so chilled out as the stains make some promises for life without being specific to be in public places or at home. Life is always so unfair with girls since they are bleeding hearts. According to science, the blood expelled out during the menstruation cycle is impure since this blood is out from a different organ part of the girl's body. People in India have made this small issue as a taboo hard to handle, girls are not allowed to talk about her periods in public as well as with her own parents, they have to live with it in silence.

Every culture practices their beliefs, myths, and rites on menstruation- why do you think these are perpetuated? (Elaborate taking examples from your community)

Every culture practices their beliefs, myths, and rites on menstruation and I think that these exercises are perpetuated for example taking my community into consideration I have noticed and strived to understand that when a girl has her 1st periods, no one is happy not even the little girl who is 12 and has no idea about how has she started bleeding when she hasn't hurt herself? In my community, there are rules of not touching god's photo or doing puja or even not entering the temple as at this time girls are impure but there is no response when a little girl asks her mother that why can't I touch god when he himself has given to me? During this bleeding time, an impure girl can't touch the jar filed up with pickles as the pickle is prone to get spoiled if she touches it without washing her hands and keeping her self clean. A girl menstruating should try and keep herself clean all the time during these 5-7 days and if not so then she is letting her fathers or brothers life in danger since if she doesn't keep her self tidy then there are chances that her father and brother would be cursed or punished by god as the lady or the girl of the house makes the environment unhealthy which may lead to making people prone to have infectious diseases and fall ill because of her uncleanliness during she was menstruating. All these myths are all to scare a girl and make her period days hard to survive but in fact, all these rites and beliefs are just all about the girls to make her aware of keeping herself clean, maintain a healthy environment surrounding, stoping the diseases at the end. But all she is left with is cursing herself to be born as a girl who is pressurized to live her life the way the society has made to live. The simple word 'PERIOD' has been made into a taboo that seems to have no end and aims to be a part of the problems a girl strives to live but no one ever asked a girl how does. she makeup so hard to live with the pain for a few days every month.
