Enough Is Enough

Samaira was looking resplendent in her red lehenga as she walked down the aisle to complete her wedding vows.

Hiten was looking at her in awe. She was going to be his in some time and he couldn't wait for that moment.

As soon as she came and stood beside him, his joy knew no bounds.

"I want to say something" she said.

Everyone was really surprised.

"But beta, the mahurat for varmala will get delayed" her mom tried to explain.

"It is the right time mom. If not now it will be too late" She told and turned towards Hiten's parents

"Uncle, Aunty, I respected you both a lot but the way you behaved yesterday with my parents, I am extremely sorry to say that this behaviour is not acceptable.

You call my parents at 7 in the evening and say that if tomorrow they don't give you a Swift Dezire car in the dowry, you won't come with the baraat. Why????

Why, do my parents have to give it to you. Isn't your son capable enough to buy for himself? Or are you selling him in the job market??....ENOUGH IS ENOUGH" she glared at them.

"What nonsense is this Simmi" Hiten questioned her.

"I am sorry to say dude you have been put up for sale in this job market by your dear parents" she looked straight into his eyes.

Hiten turned towards his parents and asked, "Mom dad, is this true" his dad tried to calm him down.

"I just want to know if this is true" he freed himself.

"Yes, what is wrong in that? We have been doing this since ages. You are our only son, we have spent so much on your education..."his father didn't fumble while saying this.

"Spent on my education...well that was your responsibility. What about Samaira's parents.... how do they plan to recover her cost of education....By asking dowry from her brother's in laws when he gets married??" he questioned angrily.

Even Samaira's parents were ashamed because this is what they were planning to do.

Simmi was happy to see that Hiten is by her side.

He went and held Simmi's hand and said "Please stop this non sense. Giving and taking dowry is both a crime.How can you blackmail somebody to fulfill your greed. Really its beyond my imagination. I am going to marry simmi only WITHOUT ANY DOWRY. Enough is Enough" he said and proceeded towards the stage for varmala.

Samaira just kept looking at him with respect and thanking God for sending Hiten in her life.
