Can't Forget You

Opposites attract but not always stay close.

SHE alighted at the Patna station.

As she walked down the platforms an air of nostalgia hit her. She wanted those memories to be erased from her mind but alas they came back to her.

She had booked a cab and off she went to the hotel where she took a shower, ordered a cup of hot coffee and sat reading the newspaper. After a while, she was bored and decided to walk towards the mall just across the street.

She saw the Hamleys outlet and went inside. Since it was a Sunday, the place was a little crowded with kids of all age groups flinging the toys when her eyes fell on a couple who was entertaining their kid.

She moved closer and she saw that it was HIM. Her heart skipped a beat, had he read that email she had written to him informing about her visit there. Though she never got any response from HIM still she used to update him about her life. Don't know what satisfaction she got out of it.

Suddenly she bumped into something and fell down and all the kids started laughing. That was the time that he saw her.

As their eyes met, she could feel the intensity of his gaze. He gestured at what time she had reached. He made a thumbs up and gestured her to come to the food court after 10 mins.

As she reached the food court, her eyes searched for him and there she found him sitting in the corner most table.

Slowly and steadily she walked towards him.

"Hi" she told as soon as she was near him.

"Hi" he answered smiling, giving his million dollar smile.

"I hope you are happy with your family" he asked.

"Yes am very much happy with my parents and our dog pluto" she said with a smile.

He was stunned listening to this.

"Didn't you marry" he questioned.

"I was never able to forget you to move on in life. The memories that I have with you are enough for me to stay happy forever" she told and walked away with her head held high.

He just stood there like she had stood 10 years back when he broke off his relationship with her.
