Mirror Mirror On The Wall
Mirror Mirror On The Wall
She looked into the mirror
there were black spots on her face
seemed strange as she possessed
unblemished complexion
How come no one had commented
she questioned and looked again
in a another mirror. Nothing had changed
Obviously mirrors needed to be changed
Outside rains arrived in sheets of curtains
Rushed out, face upturned, confident
Pure rain water would remedy defects
Spots stayed much to her consternation
Her alter ego was unrecognizable
Used face scrub, applied a face mask,
mirror reflected facial black marks
In anger asked the mirror 'Hey..what's up
we have been friends right from start
Remember our pact never to lie
to each other with or without make up'.
Mirror responded...' the back spots you
see are sins that show up, every time
you stray from the right path.
Reflection of your soul corrupt.
Go mend your ways and see results'.
True enough, all changed, when she
corrected course mid-life; took a vow
would never be persuaded to lead an
immoral life, for the big bucks.
Down the line as she aged, her reflection
unblemished remained.
Impurity of thoughts, actions
rains or mirror cannot change
she realized before it was too late.
Now gracefully aged;
Mirror her conscience keeper
Her true friend.
