Homesick
Homesick
In a day all so mundane,
Caught in boredom's tight embrace,
No adventures to gain,
No new people to face.
The stay at home order reigns,
All too familiar the scene,
No need to step outside and maintain,
Social distancing long been routine.
I spy through my virtual realm,
The introverted life I see,
Wake up, sit down helm,
Laptops and screens for company.
No conversations with neighbors,
No invitations for dinner plans,
Just a daily cycle of a homebody's savors,
Independence and comfort that never ends.
