Always Upbeat
Always Upbeat
Their home was blown struck by Fani cyclone
The corrugated tin roof couldn't hold onto
Like a caged bird flew across the unknown route
Coconut trees look askance refuse to succumb
Bend and again stand up
Daily wage earners crouch
Under skeletal concrete structures
Witness homes getting shattered.
Do they beat their chest in sorrow?
No...would be back to work tomorrow
Sheltered under the flyover, build a fire
With twigs, branches scattered all over
Exchanging notes, not losing hope
Sharing a camaraderie rich don't know
Always upbeat, always on the go,
Starting from scratch, they move on.
