ZOOPHOBIA-A THREAT FOR LIFE...
ZOOPHOBIA-A THREAT FOR LIFE...
Back then, during my childhood, I was crazy for dogs, petting 3 dogs of a different genus. For each of them I had come up with peculiar names, but the innocent creatures loved them! Cleaning their poop was the most hated activity, however, their presence when no one was around was priceless! Their unconditional love, faithfulness towards me, joy and their awaiting eyes constantly staring at the door for me to get back home from school made those days of my life the most memorable ones!
One tragic day, when no one was home I called Zoobiedoo- one of my pets gesturing for it to come towards me. It was for the first time that he didn't even bother to respond plus was busy scratching my favourite bean bag. I raised my voice at it out of anger. Zoobiedoo got aggressive and ran toward me at the maximum of his speed. That wasn't usual at all! HE JUMPED ON ME BITING, ME SO HARD ON THE NECK THAT I STARTED BLEEDING. IT STILL DIDN'T STOP, CONTINUED TO BARK AND STARTED SCRATCHING MY SKIN. I WAS ALL HELPLESS. Luckily, the door was open and one of my neighbours had entered hearing me cry for help.
My health condition got so miserable that I was admitted for 3 weeks in the hospital, as the poison of the dog got spread all over my body. It was an extremely painful and depressing period for me. I couldn't digest the fact that my Zoobiedoo had literally attacked me! I later came to know that he was affected by the rabies-a vulnerable disease in dogs that made him go wild.
From that day on, I never even looked at the rest of the two pets I had moreover, asked my mom to take it as far as possible from my eyesight because I HAD DEVELOPED IMMENSE FEAR OF DOGS! Not only dogs but that experience had created a great fright for all the other animals out there as well in me. Now, whenever I even see a dog I get choked up with a panic attack leading to a mental breakdown, constantly reminding me of that excruciating trauma!
