My pencil moves on this paper. Today maybe it writes a story. A story which feels affective and realistic; reflective; or imaginative.

The story of life. Of people; of creatures; of seasons. The pencil has to do its duty. To write down with me a story. This story that once written here, would leave its prints on this universe.

Imprinted on young minds, these fables forever stay alive. When young minds outgrow, they sleep there somewhere in a cosy corner of their own; and walking down the memory lane, wake up to greet them time and again.

This is the story of winter. Winter in all its colors.

When I was a kid, I remember a particular tale from my favorite book "Russian Fairy tales.”

This tale, was the tale of a young girl abandoned by a jealous housemaid of her royal parents. She was adopted by the winter season. Winter lived with her four other sisters. They brought her up, and the five 'season sisters' raised her till she found herself a groom, and got married.

The five sisters each personifying a season of the year.

Today I hold winter by the hand, and walk her down with me. Chatting.

“Why are you the most unpredictable one?” I ask her.

“Hmm. Why do you feel so?” she asks me bemused.

"…because even the best weathermen fail to forecast you."

Winter smiled away coyly.

"You are an absolute chameleon, most dramatic of all season sisters!" I conferred the title on her.

"Really? How?" Winter looked amused.

"Don’t you agree?Tell me! How much temperature you keep in Plains of India?"

"We’ll a minimum of 2 degrees maybe."

"Mountains?"

"It can reach up to -19 or-20 degree."

"Yes of course.Elsewhere on globe?"

"Yes I run up to -30 to -50 in areas of human habitation. At times even less."

"So that explains it.Your sister summer contents showing her prowess with a range between 30 degree to 45. The spring and autumn, and the monsoon keep to an even tighter scale."

Winter looked down, then around nonchalantly. "You’re right I guess."

"And then the snow you bring with you? It’s a whole new scene, within the drama created by you."
