" Not for another month. We just reached here." Mother replies. We are at our grandparents' and it's already been ten days of vacation. I don't understand why we spend so long in a different city every year. I long to go home.

"When do we go back?" I ask my classmate, a bit sad.

"Not for another month. The semester has just begun." She smiles. I don't understand why I have been sent packing to another city for graduation when my city has great facilities too. I long to go home.

Ten More Years Later

"When do we go back?" I ask my husband, a bit anxious.

"Not for another month. It's been just a year here." My husband says. I don't understand why he accepted this short assignment abroad. I hate this place, I long to go home.

"You are addicted to Mumbai. It's so much better here, clean, peaceful, beautiful. Why can't we stay here forever?" He remarks.

"No!" I scream. I shudder at the thought. But yes, he's right. I am addicted. To my life in my city of birth, my Mumbai. The crowds, the noise, the chaos, the disorder, the rains, the trains...I am addicted. I need a puff of Mumbai every now and then, I can't stay away for long.

Let any other city be a splendid example of order and neatness, I need to return to Mumbai to exist, to survive, to find My Home under the Sun. So if you feel my Mumbai Addiction is wrong, well that's your fault.
