Chudaail!!

"Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a beautiful girl. When she grew up, she married a handsome man. They had two cute children. They were very happy.

But the village head liked her very much and wanted to marry her. One day he requested her to abandon her family and marry him. She was furious and refused him.

The village head wanted revenge. He sent goons to her house, beat up her husband and children and kidnapped her. They bound her in chains and threw her before the village head but before he could harm her, she killed herself.

That night when the headman slept peacefully, an evil chudaail appeared out of nowhere and drank his blood. He screamed but nobody came to his rescue. When he looked closely, it was 'HER'. She had transformed into a witch now and she laughed aloud when she killed him.

Since then, whenever any man tried to tease or harm a woman, the chudaail would finish off that man at night. Thus people started respecting women out of fear."

As my grandmother completed her story, my mother reprimanded her.

"Why do you tell such horrifying stories to children? You are scaring them."

As I look back now, with my dear grandmother long gone, I realise how relevant her story was.

If only all of us women could transform into blood-sucking witches at night and finish off those who disrespect a woman's honor.
