It's sickening to see that we have become so intolerant and rude about every small issue on social media. We don't realize how this attitude of ours so easily affects our real life friendships.

Six years ago I never thought I'd lose two of my close friends over a silly argument. I had dreams that we'd make it till old age and only death would do us apart. And now here I am, left alone over a laughable tussle. When I look back over that dreadful day I wonder how it all ended in just a few hours! With an unfollow, block and delete option it's become so easy to shut someone from your life. In fact it's just a click away, and people who react so quickly with this easy option of shutting out someone don't realize the years of effort and compromise the other person has endured to keep the friendship going. They end everything in just a snap and lash out with the worst of language. They find it easier to nurse their ego instead of owning up to their mistake and saving a precious friendship. Maybe they've made new friends and don't find this friendship worthy anymore, but it just hurts to see them treat you like you are nothing to them (especially when you never had such an opinion about them).

After all that tussle comes the next phase where you never hear anything from them again. They make ignoring someone look so easy! It's as if you never existed in their life. But when you have some dignity and self respect left, you too decide to pack your bags and leave. After being so kind hearted to them, all they do is fill you up with hatred. It's just sad to see how things have turned out. Social media definitely gives us a portal to maintain and make new relationship's, but maturity seems to have gone on a long sabbatical these days.
