When Wishes Come True

 This story goes back to an eventful day when I had first got meet my celebrity crush. But with my expectations being crushed I made a whimsical wish of wanting to meet him in person. Boy, who ever gave a serious thought that wishes could come true, if you wished for it real hard. 

       I'd seen him from afar during an event, but it was then I felt that I didn't really want to meet him in that manner and just be one among those dozen crazy fans screaming for attention. If I ever got to meet him I wanted it to be a special one, or at least the type where I'd bump into him at some place; but not those types where you had to wait for hours among the herd of fans just to get a glimpse of your favourite actor, with every other security personnel treating you like a no one. So I decided that if I wanted to meet him, I'm not ever going to another event to chance upon him.

          Month's went by and then there came that day where I stumbled upon a contest which promised to give goodies, and a chance to meet my favorite star. That seemed like a real great opportunity to meet him! But things kept coming in between and I was in two minds of whether I should take part in it. It's only on the last day of the contest that I decided to give it a try and went about fulfilling the formalities. There was a part of me which felt I could be one of those winners, but I didn't have the slightest hint that I was indeed going to be one of them!

        It was just another lazy Sunday afternoon, when suddenly I see an instagram notification pop up on my phone, which said that the organisers of the contest had mentioned me in their story. To my surprise I saw something that part of me wished for to happen. I jumped with joy! I couldn't believe my eyes. Now I was a few steps closer to getting my wish of meeting him fulfilled. Things went crazy that day, with his fan clubs mentioning about our win, and a dozen people following my account, and getting all sorts of weird requests from unknown people, which I as a winner could fulfil on meeting him. Of course things didn't materialize so quickly, there was quite a wait. 

        I got some vouchers sent by them in the meanwhile and did some shopping at their outlet. But all the while the three of us who won just kept thinking about the day we would meet him. We kept asking the organizers about the event, and each time got the same response that we will get to meet him when he is free. That day finally came after four months. The delay was worth the wait though. It was a delight to go to a place you've never been before, talk to people you've never met, see your favourite actor shoot in front of your eyes, shake hands with him, click pictures and chat with him like he was your friend! He seemed to be such a down to earth and sweet person. He made us feel so comfortable, we didn't feel for a bit that he was superior to us. In fact he was just like one of us, who followed his passion and now is living his dreams.
