Wars And Conquests

Wars And Conquests

Wars and conquests, tales of old,

Of power and greed, and stories told.

Of lands that were won, and those that were lost,

Of heroes and villains, at great cost.

Battles fought with blood and steel,

Where wounds were deep, and scars were real.

Brothers fighting brothers, fathers and sons,

For what they believed, or what they'd done.

The glory of victory, the shame of defeat,

The spoils of war, the lands to meet.

But what is the price of all this gain,

Of kingdoms won, and lives in pain?

The scars of war, they run so deep,

The pain and loss, they never sleep.

Families torn apart, and lives destroyed,

The price of conquest, it can't be avoided.

And yet, we still fight, for what we believe,

For power and wealth, and lands to receive.

But let us remember, the cost of this game,

And the lives that are lost, in its bloody name.

So let us seek peace, and learn to forgive,

To build bridges, and learn to live.

For in the end, it's not about who's won,

But the love and compassion, that we've shown.
