Vulnerability

Tisca was all of 13 years when she had to shift School as she had to do high school and had finished her elementary classes. Her parents were always very particular about good behaviour, manners and etiquette. She was brought up with good values which she followed very sincerely. So far everything went on well. She was good in academics, extra curricular activities and so on. Tisca's parents were proud of her indeed . Now she moved to a new School a new place and a whole lot of new groups of students.

Tisca was a very skinny and dark skinned girl. She had her own reservations about mingling with people and making friends, so the other side of this is she was a loner who barely spoke to anyone and so anyone showed interest to speak to her as well. She gradually got used to the new School. She carried on with her School work etc. But then something happened that changed the whole scenario. She became the target of fun and ridicule to a group of her Schoolmates who considered themselves the leaders of all other students.

The reason being their group had the head boy and head girl of the School with them. The head boy was none other than the son of the Principal of the School. Now you can imagine to what torment she was subjected to There was not a single day left when she went through all this hell silently and wept in the washroom of the School as well as her home. She felt so helpless You might be wondering why she never disclosed all this to her teachers and parents. Revealing to the teachers would mean she was putting herself into more trouble as we know the group included the head boy etc revealing this to her parents would mean troubling them when she least wanted to be done. So she suffered silently. Rhis went on and on with no respite in sight.

Amidst this rut she had to undergo one more stressful experience when her mom was diagnosed with the problem of appendix. She was hospitalised for sometime and was under treatment for the same Her mother would be in the hospital for few days and then she would need care to recoup again. Tisca had her own sense of fear and anxiety. A day after this ordeal when all students were present in the auditorium for a session of good thoughts sharing the head boy and his group cornered Tisca and started teasing her about her mother's health issue tormenting her continuously and making funny remarks about something which was bothering her terribly. This was the last straw , Tisca could not tolerate anymore she had undergone all this humiliation for a very longtime. With all these thoughts reeling in her mind she just jumped over the table around which these tormentors were seated and plants a heavy kick on one of the faces with all her might. It was fast that nobody realised what had happened until they saw the face of the recipient of the kick. It was none other the head boy.

Now Tisca was in trouble. She was almost dragged to the Principals Office where she was bantered with more insults and abuses verbally. Her Father had to come and give an apply letter on her behalf . She too gave a feeble apology for what she had done/not done?? Her ordeal continued till almost the completion of her Schooling days . It took her almost 20, odd years to overcome all the negativity she underwent in a place that actually makes people to become better with all values and skills. Was it her mistake or any others who made her a target of trash for no reason. Such experiences leave deep scars that may heal or don't heal sometimes. Today Tisca has made it her goal to help students who have such untold agonies . She guides them how to stand up for themselves and their rights when required. Ofcourse it necessarily need not be through kicks and punches. There are many better ways to deal with such situations only a little bit presence of mind and courage is needed . This is what she tries to imbibe in people who come to her for suggestions. She is pleasantly happy to do do this . We do know the reason why she does this. Don't we ??
