Unrequited Love

The story is about 3 years ago a boy named Jayant who was a very shy guy and also he was an Introvert who never used to talk to people and who never attended any gatherings. He just used to sit alone and enjoy his own company. As he was an Introvert he never shared his feelings with anyone else, he kept all his feelings and pains within himself. 

One day his mom requested him to join a marriage ceremony of his cousin but as he was an Introvert he never liked to attend gatherings and functions he denied to his mother saying that, " Mom you know me I don't like to attend any kind of functions so why you are asking me to join you?" Telling that he left from there and he went to his room. After some time when everything was normal, his mom went to his room and made him understand that it's his cousin's marriage and he should attend it compulsively. 

By saying that her mom left his room and he also understood what his mom is trying to say so he agreed with her mom and told her that he will attend the marriage. Hearing this his mom was happy. The next day he started packing his bag and to some extent, he was excited because he was attending his first life gathering. He was all set and ready to go with his mom and for that marriage function, he had to travel about 14 hours by train as the function was in Mumbai. So, he also experienced a long journey for the first time.

Finally, they reached the destination on the next day where his mom's brother came to pick them up at the station, and on that same evening, they kept a small song ceremony as a function prior to the marriage. In India normally there are so many functions arranged before marriage as it's a small part of their heritage. So, as Jayant was new to all this, he was excited to attend the song ceremony so as soon as they reached home from the station it was almost 2 PM in the afternoon so he went and got ready to attend the song ceremony. 

As everyone got ready to go for the song ceremony Jayant also joined them. He was excited, happy and he was also nervous to some extent because he never attended gatherings in his life so he was a bit scared also. But as soon as they reached there were people who were singing the mild and calm songs and on the other part, some people were dancing too. Seeing all this Jayant got happy and he was enjoying the moment and after the song ceremony, the dinner was arranged for everyone. As soon as the song ceremony got over people started having their dinner but Jayant was sitting in a corner with a tired face. 

As everyone was having dinner Jayant’s mom called him to meet some of her relatives where she made him met with a girl. His mom told him, " Meet this girl she is Ronita" as soon as Jayant met Ronita he was blank, his eyes were stuck without a blink as it seemed that he saw the most beautiful girl in his life for the first time. By seeing Ronita for the first time he fell for her, Jayant started to love 0Ronita and it was love at first sight. Reaching home Jayant was just thinking of that girl and he didn't even sleep that night as well he described the girl in some words when he met, 

"When I saw her in a beautiful dress and white mantle for the first time,

My heart started Reverberating fast,

Everything near me backed up and a breeze started,

A feeling of joy Overwhelmed,

A look of her eyes melted my heart,

A feeling of getting butterflies in my stomach,

Yes, it was love at first sight,

And yes, I believe in it..."

Eventually, he fell in love with that girl by seeing her for the first time. As there was no function on the next day so he was a bit sad because he was not going to see Ronita on that day. He started loving her so much that he couldn't able to forget her at all. He was just waiting to meet her again. But on the 12th of October, there was Jayant's birthday and also there was a party arranged for everyone on the occasion of the marriage ceremony. So Jayant was excited to attend the party not because it was a function but because he was going to meet Ronita again and the same thing happened as soon as he reached the party he saw Ronita sitting in the first row with her mom. As Jayant was very curious to get Ronita's number and he also wanted to talk to her. The dance party was scheduled for the 12th of October at 7 pm but all they reached a little early so still there was a time for the party to start. Seeing this Jayant sat on a chair in the corner as usual.

Exactly at 7 PM the party started, the hall was echoing with the music and slowly-slowly people started to dance whereas at the same time Ronita started dancing with her sister and relatives. As Jayant was a shy guy he never danced in any party hall or gatherings so he was sitting in that same corner watching everyone dance. He was also watching Ronita's dance and was thinking of how to approach her. So he thought of recording the videos on his mobile phone in which he recorded everyone's dance videos but most of them were Ronita's dance videos. Meanwhile, Ronita also noticed him recording her videos. After some time Ronita went and approached Jayant as Jayant was unknown about this as soon as he saw Ronita, he got scared because she knew that he was shooting her videos. But the reaction of Ronita was different when she reached near Jayant. She asked Jayant to send all the recorded videos to her. Hearing this Jayant was shocked and he asked her how he gonna send it because he doesn't know her and there is no other way to send those videos.

At this very moment, Ronita said that he can send to her Whats App number but the reaction of Jayant was like I don't have your number, hearing this Ronita grabbed Jayant's phone and typed her number, and told him to message her now itself on WhatsApp but Jayant didn't message. After some time when Jayant was sitting alone, she again came and asked Jayant that did he messaged her? But Jayant's reaction was no I didn't and again she told them to do it Jayant replied with ok. When the party was over and everyone was going home and Jayant was also getting ready to go home at that moment again Ronita came to him and asked him for the third time that did he messaged? And Jayant said no, then and there Ronita said then what are you waiting for do it now and finally Jayant message her on that number. That night they had a conversation about each other and they talked till morning 4 o'clock. Jayant was in love with Ronita but Ronita wasn't knowing about this. Slowly Jayant was becoming close to Ronita and he wanted to propose her but was very scared about what is Ronita denied? And all the things. 

After that night Jayant can't able to sleep he was just thinking about Ronita the next day was his cousin's marriage but that party night something happened with Ronita's mom and they weren't going to come into the marriage, Jayant was unknown about this until Ronita told him and also Ronita added that she won't be coming in the marriage, as soon as he heard this he was very upset and he requested Ronita to come in the marriage but Ronita was upset with whatever happened the other night. So the next day morning Jayant messaged Ronita but there wasn't any reply from her side and Jayant was thinking, how to convince Ronita for coming into the marriage. After an hour Ronita messaged Jayant about how he was and what he was doing and Jayant replied with everything good and he was getting ready for the marriage, when Ronita heard that she asked are you going in marriage? Jayant said yes I'm going as I came for that purpose also he told that if she can come he would be thankful and they can meet last time because Jayant has to go back home after the marriage, hearing she said ok she will be coming with her dad. Jayant was so happy hearing this and he couldn't control his happiness. After that Ronita asked Jayant what he was wearing for marriage? Jayant said he was wearing a blue t-shirt with sky blue Jeans and the same question was asked by Jayant to Ronita, and she replied with a black dress. 

Ronita told Jayant that as soon as he reaches the marriage hall he need to inform her about that and Jayant did the same. Jayant was waiting for Ronita to see her desperately in the black dress. As soon as Ronita reached he saw Jayant and waved at him seeing Ronita in a black dress his eyes were stuck she was looking so beautiful that he couldn't take his eyes from Ronita. They both had cocktails which were kept in the corner in a marriage hall. They had a little bit of conversation and then Ronita left for attending marriage and Jayant was busy maintaining the relatives in the marriage. After attending the marriage Ronita had her lunch and she was about to go back to her house and she wanted to attend her classes in the evening. When she left from the marriage hall Jayant met her at the staircase and she waved bye at him and Jayant left from there. She went downstairs and she looked left and right but nobody was there and Jayant was watching her from distance and was confused about what she was looking for but he couldn't ask her as she left from there. The marriage function was over and everything was done Jayant had his lunch and he also left for his house. That evening he messaged Ronita but she didn't reply. After an hour a message popped up on Jayant's phone saying "Hi sorry for the late reply, I was walking outside with my dad" which was of Ronita. As soon as Jayant saw the message he got happy and he replied instantly saying "not a problem" after that again the conversation started and now the conversation was a little interesting as Ronita started 

Ronita: you are a fool, I was looking for you today when I came downstairs but you left I don't know where you went.

Jayant: You were looking for me? But why? And you waved me a bye in front of your dad, you know how much I was scared seeing this, what if your dad would have seen us?

Ronita: Yes I was looking for you as I wanted you to drop me at my house and another thing what if I waved at you in front of my dad just wave the same way as I did nothing wrong in that.

Jayant: Really? I mean seriously? You wanted me to drop you at your house today? But why? 

Jayant sarcastically saying to Ronita: you don't know how to ride a bike and he sent laughing emojis,

Ronita: Sending a serious emoji: Can you ride a bike wearing one piece? And yes I wanted you to drop me and then bring back the bike for my dad. 

Jayant: But how can I drop you, I'm new in this city and I don't know the roads, if I come to drop you I can't come back as I forget the roads easily saying this he sent a laughing emoji.

Ronita: Seriously? Do you forget roads? You can't remember that much? anyways whatever it is now we are out of it.

Jayant: yes but I lost a chance to drop you.

Ronita interrupts Jayant by messaging her saying that she wants to sleep as because tomorrow she had classes early morning and her boards are coming near. Jayant reading this told her she can sleep and with that last message he went offline. 

The next morning when Jayant woke up the first thing he did was he texted Ronita with the good morning wishes and then he asked for her schedule but there was no reply from her as well the messages weren't delivered on her phone. After an hour again Jayant messaged her asking her " Is everything Ok Ronita? No message no reply?" But still, there was no reply from her nor the message was delivered. Seeing all this Jayant was worried and also scared he was thinking about what would have happened to Ronita why she was not messaging him and he didn't have any food on that day. In the late evening, Ronita messaged Jayant seeing his infinite messages she told Jayant that she is totally fine and she already told him that she is going to classes so she won't be able to message her. Seeing Ronita's reply Jayant messaged her instantly saying Ronita are you an idiot? You didn't have 5 minutes to message me from your whole schedule? I was scared and I was afraid that what would have happened to you? Reading this reply of Jayant, Ronita felt that care in Jayant's words and also reading those infinite messages sent by Jayant Ronita understood that Jayant is in love with her but she didn't ask by herself instead she replied to his message saying that " why were you afraid? I'm not a kid" reading this reply from Ronita, Jayant told her " for me yes you are a kid and that's why I care for you" reading this Ronita was so happy and she blushed. 

Both started to love each other but they didn't have the courage to ask each other and the next day Jayant was leaving so he messaged Ronita that night if they can meet in the morning but Ronita denied saying she had classes but Ronita wanted to see the efforts and also she wanted to see if Jayant can convince him to meet so same thing happened Jayant started convincing her to meet him the next day saying " Ronita can you please make it tomorrow because after that I don't know when are we gonna meet? And after that I don't know if I'm alive or not so please come tomorrow thinking as tomorrow is my last day." Reading this message Ronita got tears in her eyes and she messaged Jayant saying " don't you dare to say this I'm coming tomorrow let's meet". Reading this Jayant was happy and they decided to meet in a cafe. As soon as Jayant read her message he interrupted Ronita saying he will talk to her later because he is going out for some work.

Jayant went to buy a small gift for Ronita as they were going to meet the next day so he bought a beautiful pendant with the sparkling word love in a heart-shaped locket. And also be bought a small cute teddy for Ronita. And then he came back and messaged Ronita and they fixed the time of the meeting which was after Ronita's classes.

The next day Jayant went to the cafe at a given time with the gifts he bought for Ronita and Ronita was about to come from her classes. Waiting in the cafe Jayant saw Ronita parking her bike and he got happy as well as he got nervous because it was his first date with a girl and from a distance, Ronita also saw Jayant sitting and she went to him as soon as Ronita reached Jayant told her to take a seat and the waiter came to take an order. Jayant orders Ronita's special cold coffee with choco chips and he ordered a normal cold coffee for himself, as soon as she heard her favorite coffee's name from Jayant she was shocked and asked him that how he got to know that she likes that coffee answering which Jayant told that she already said that when they were talking on the first day itself but she didn't realize that and both of them started laughing. In between still, the order didn't arrive and Jayant took the pendant out of his pocket and told Ronita that this a small gift from him and he requested her to accept it. Seeing that pendant Ronita was so happy and she told that she can't accept as she can't wear it in front of her parents so Jayant told her that she can tell them that her friend has gifted and she can take it so she accepted the gift after giving the pendant Jayant took out a teddy from under the table and gave it to her, seeing this she laughed and asked her how many gifts still he wants to give and if still there is something then he can give to her and they both laughed at each other. 

Meanwhile, the order arrived and they both started talking to each other but they didn't have the courage to propose to each other and also both of them waiting for each other if one from both proposes but that didn't happen that day as Jayant was scared to propose and same was Ronita. As soon as they finished the coffee Ronita told them that she needs to leave because her mom would question her if she got late and taking the gifts from Jayant she left also she hugged Jayant and she wished him his safe travel. Leaving from there she offered a ride to Jayant saying she will drop him at his place and then she will go home from there as her home was not so far from Jayant's home. Hearing this Jayant got happy and he agreed to take a lift from Ronita and she dropped him at his home and on that day itself Jayant left for his hometown happily after that they were having a conversation every day and their bond became stronger and stronger every day. 

Days passed, months passed, years also passed, and with that their bond and love also got stronger and stronger, and finally the time when Jayant again had to go to Mumbai for some work and he thought to give a surprise to Ronita by saying her after reaching to Mumbai. And he did the same the day he left he didn't say anything to Ronita, as soon as he reached Mumbai he was busy in arranging his bags and taking it out from train in all he forgot to message Ronita the good morning wish seeing this Ronita was little confused and asked him texting what happened today? First time in history he didn't message her? Seeing her text Jayant messaged her saying he was really sorry as he worked late at night he just woke up now which was a lie because he didn't want to tell Ronita where he was. 

As soon as he reached his home in Mumbai, he texted Ronita saying her to arrange a meeting of both of them, reading this Ronita laughed at him and said she also wants to meet him and tell him certain things but he is not there and don't know when he is going to come to Mumbai at this reply Jayant texted her saying that he is in Mumbai at his house, reading this Ronita was shocked and asked Jayant how and when did he come? On this, Jayant told her let's meet and will sit and talk about everything calmly. Ronita was so happy and now both of them decided to propose to each other whenever they are meeting because if not now then it will get too late for both of them and they arranged the same place which they had met 2 years before. Same way Jayant bought some gifts for Ronita for the next day and he left for the cafe and this time he thought to wait outside the cafe for Ronita. Ronita didn't arrive at the given time she was a little late and Jayant was worried about her. Being late Ronita decided to drive fast to reach the cafe because she thought Jayant would leave from there and she was already running half an hour late. She was close to the cafe and she saw Jayant standing outside same way Jayant saw her from there and he was so happy to see her, seeing Jayant standing outside she waved at him and in doing this she lost her balance on the bike and her bike got skidded and her head got collided with a big rock which was kept on the sideways of the road, as soon as she collided the blood started coming out of her head, seeing this Jayant ran to save her and when he reached there he took Ronita in her arms and told her she will be ok, he called the ambulance and he was sitting near Ronita, seeing all this Ronita was happy, seeing Jayant Ronita was happy that finally she saw Jayant, she told Jayant that it is their last meeting because she is not going to survive, hearing this Jayant started to cry and said no nothing is going to happen to her the ambulance is on the way and he hugged Ronita tightly, Ronita told Jayant that she wanted to convince something before she dies hearing this Jayant said no she is not going to die but Ronita interrupts her saying that she don't have much time, "so listen, I wanted to tell you that I love you, I didn't had courage to tell you when we met for the first time but now, I love you when you cared for me for the first time on the marriage day, Jayant I love you the most" saying this she closed her eyes, Hearing this Jayant hugged her and told her that he also loved her the most but didn't had courage to tell her but nothing is going to happen she will be fine saying that when he saw Ronita, he realized that Ronita closed her eyes and he started shouting her name but there was no response, he saw the same pendant Ronita was wearing which he had gifted her on the first day, seeing all this he shouted and cried her name but there was no reply, he understood that Ronita was no more and he couldn't able to control his tears, he was going on shouting but there was no response. She died. 

The love again failed, the love was unachieved.

That's why it's said never get too late for confessing things in life.
