The Unseen Truth - Chapter 1

Chapter 1 - Grandma's AWOL

It was 23rd of May and everybody at home was busy in their work. I was the only one with no work and just sitting in one place reading a book which I have read at least 10 times now, and now it was getting worse I have learned the whole book now!, and it was getting on my nerves. Whenever I would ask someone if I could go down to play with my friends they would say " no". And now I was really, really bored It was not only cause I was at home it was because I was doing nothing just sitting at one place and reading a book which I have read more than 10 times!. I was now feeling very drowsy. I closed my book, went near the window took a deep breath in the fresh air. Then suddenly my mom shouted from the hall.

" Ava are you coming down for lunch, or shall I bring it up for you?" shouted mom.

" No, I am coming down, you can start I'll come in a second." I replied

" Okay, dear but, come fast" 

"Okay"

I took a deep breath and ran down for lunch.

After, lunch I wanted to watch T.V which my mom says you should only see while someone big is sitting with you, I don't understand the logic, but have to listen to my mom!.

" Mom, umm can I watch T.V for some time" I asked my hands shaking.

" Yes, okay but only for some time." Said mom.

" Yay!, Thank you mom" I said hugging her.

I sat on my sofa, turned on my T.V. and started watching my favorite show The Unknown Potion. That is my favorite show cause it is really very funny and amazing, all of my friends love to watch  The Unknown Potion. It is the best show I have ever seen in my life, I mean not in life but yes, yet it is the best. I took some chips from the kitchen shelf, folded my legs and my eyes focused on the T.V. 

After an hour or more my mom came running down banging her legs on the floor loudly, she was on her mobile talking to someone, she looked confused and terrified, and sweat trickled down her face.

" Mom are you okay!?" I asked her confused.

" No, I'm not okay we have to go from here right now!" she said with a terrified look.

" But why!?" 

" Cause, this world is gonna be destroyed" she said switching off the T.V.

" Mom are you alright!!!!? what are you talking about!?" 

" We have to go from here pack your bag c'mon we have to go fast!!" she said taking a bag and putting everything in it.

" Mom what are you doing!?"

Mom scattered everything whatever she got in her hand she also broke glasses. After hearing so much noise my father came running down. 

" What happened? What are you doing dear!?" He said confused.

Mom did not answer as she slowly closed her eyes and fell down with a big " Thud!!!"

I was totally confused and a little bit scared, what was happening to mom she was totally acting as if someone was torturing her was constraining her to do so.

" What has happened to her? Why was she acting so weird?" I asked my hands trembling.

"I don't know dear, she has never acted so weird!?" said my dad with trembling hands.

Then we picked her up from the floor and kept her on the bed in her room. She did not wake up even after half an hour. I was totally confused and my head was filled with questions cause she has never ever acted so weird, and even in the morning she was fine. I just don't know what happened to her why is she acting like this?

Then my father came to room.

"It's all gonna be alright. I have called a doctor for help." said dad.

"Why have you called a doctor? nothing has happened to mom she is alright." I said tears running down my cheeks.

"She needs a doctor dear. I know she is alright but, then also we should give a chance to the doctor to see if there is something wrong about her." said my dad with sad smile.

"Okay" I replied

The door bell rang and my father went down to open the door. I wiped my tears and sat beside the bed where my mom was still sleeping. 

I was scared cause, if something would happen to mom I would never ever would be happy in my whole life cause my mom is the best mom in the world I love her a lot.

I heard footsteps coming up, I was sure it was my dad and the doctor.

" Ava this is doctor Max, he is a very well known doctor of this town" said dad.

" Oh! Hi Dr. Max " I replied shaking hands with Dr. Max

" Hi!! Ava nice to meet you" said Dr. Max.

" Nice! to meet you too " I replied.

Then he removed some things and some medicines out of his big black case. 

" Can I have a big plastic bag?" He asked

" Yes! of course " Said dad.

I did not understand why Dr. Max was asking for a plastic bag. I was confused what exactly he was going to do?

He then checked mom's heart beat and then her pulses. Then he examined her for along time. 

" We have to take her to the hospital " he said.

" But!! w-why w-what has h-happened to her is sh-she fine " I asked my heart beating fast.

" Dear, she is fine but, not in a good condition right now " he said.

" Okay but, when will she be fine? When will she come back home? "

" She will come soon "

" Okay "

My mom was shifted to the hospital next morning. She was not very well. After she was gone, me and my dad was alone at home.

" Dear, I thing you should go to your grandma's house, she will take a good care of you " said dad.

" No! I will not go, I want to stay with mom, I want to see her. " 

" No dear, try to understand, I won't be at home all the time to take care of you. Please."

" Huh!!. Okay. "

The next morning I went to my grandma's house. My grandma stayed away from my house, she stayed alone in a very big house as my grandfather passed away many years ago when I was a 5 years old girl. 

I rang the bell. TING-TONG  . My grandma opened the door.

" Hi!!, grandma. "

" Hi! my naughty little daughter " she said.

The whole day I was silent and did not talk . My grandma kept on doing her work and I kept sitting in the window thinking 'bout mom. 

The next day I got up from the bed and took a bath got ready and sat on the dinning table for breakfast. 

"Grandma where are you I am hungry" I shouted at the top of my voice.

She did not reply, I thought she must be in the washroom so I waited for some time for her to come out. After 3 to 4 minutes I waited but, she did not come out. U started getting worried so, I went in her bed room to check. When I went in her room she was not there!. So, I went out and checked if she was anywhere else but, she was no where. I was now a lot worried as grandma was not there and I was alone in home. I was so scared that I was enable to understand anything, sweat trickled down my face. I then struck with an idea. I tried to call my father. "RING - RING" rang the phone but, my father did not pick it up. I was not more terrified so, I decided to go to dad. " But how" was the question as I can't drive and I don't know the exact route from where to find dad. Then I decided to ask for help from my neighbors. I went and rang the bell, no one opened the the door. I kept ringing the bell for 5 minutes. 

Then, a man walking by said " The people who stayed here have left this town dear."

"OH!!...Okay, thank you uncle" 

I was now confused what to do so, I asked the man can I borrow his phone , he said "you can dear". I called my dad the phone was ringing but he did not pick it up. I tried the last time now, the phone rang, and finally someone said.

"Hello"

"Hello who's speaking? Can I talk to my dad?" I asked

"Ava is it you dear!" Said the man talking on the phone.

"Yes!! Dad is it you?"

"Yes dear"

"Dad today morning when I woke up........." I told dad the whole story.

"Don't worry dear I'll come there and will pick you up but, before that don't go anywhere"

"Okay, dad" I replied.

After some time he came to pick me up I sat in the car and we drove to our house. I told my dad everything again and clearly about what happened yesterday and today morning, he was astonished on hearing this.

"Where do you think grandma would be" he asked me.

"I don't have any idea. I just woke up in the morning and she was not there in her room nor in the kitchen it's like she just vanished!!!" I said keeping my voice low.

"We need to find her"

We drove to the hospital first to check mom and then we went to our house. Me and dad spoke nothing about grandma nor mom I just went to my room and sat in one corner, dad just sat down on the sofa thinking. We were scared. There was something. 

BUT WHAT!?
