The Sword of Love

Since returning from his archeological adventure Abhay had been quite upbeat and was highly confident that he would secure his love interest Charu and had even made arrangements to get rid of his friend Yuvaann who had turned his rival when it came to securing Charu's love. Although the three had been friends since the college days, lately a love angle between them had begun threatening their friendship. Charu had maintained that it was nothing but friendship she had for them, but, the two had even snowballed the love rivaly into their careers and professional life too. Charu's uncle Vincent had noticed it carefully and had even tried to talk to Charu about it and which, she always avoided. Vincent had been like her guardian and friend and had been taking care of her since Charu's father had passed away 20 years ago. But, to Charu's dismay, Uncle Vincent one day disappeared without any clue and was informed by His business associate Ruth that he had to urgently fly to Egypt to attend a meeting and finalise a land deal. Charu, who was always suspicious and disliked his presence around her uncle due to his alleged connections with underworld was far from believing it. She decided to search for her uncle by herself and also seek the help of police too. 

On the other hand, Abhay was upbeat since his hunt for the mystery sword(khopesh) had been successful. Giving the pretext of an archeological excavation he had secretly stolen it from the museum and had managed to keep a fake in place of it. It was about to change His fortunes and with a view to impress Charu He proudly showed it to her as one of the many excavations he had made recently when he had been to an ancient site in Sri Lanka. Seeing the sword, Charu in a moment realised that Abhay was lying and that he had merely stolen it from a museum since she very well knew the owner of the sword who had deposited it in the museum - Her father. He had done to prevent it from going to the wrong hands.

She realised that Abhay was up to something nefarious and even doubted if he was behind her Uncle's disappearance. She feared for his life and prayed that he be safe. She decided to inform Yuvaan and caution him against Abhay. He was closer to her heart and which she had deliberately suppressed to save their friendship. But, Abhay's actions made her confess all her feelings to Yuvaan. They both feared for uncle Vincent's life and even decided to stop Abhay from using the sword for wrong reasons. Suggesting her that she don't leave the house he quicky drove to her house and picked her up and headed to a safe place. However, Ruth who had kept an eye on her noticed it and tailed them. 

Yuvaan had found out that recently Abhay had got in touch with Ruth and had spotted him often nearby to the lake which was rumoured to be a hotbed of secret underworld activities. Charu demanded that they go over there and find out more about Abhay's next step. Yuvaan was too intrigued to say no to Charu's demand and hence he detoured towards the lake. Luckily, a restaurant he had been frequenting was open and they thought it'd give them a vantage point to keep an eye on it. They ordered a coffee for themselves and fixed gaze on the entrance of the lake which was having a makeover by a few workers. Charu revealed to Yuvaan that the sword was Her's father's great secret and was a key to some elusive treasure and her father had struggled hard to keep it under the mat. But, was always afraid of someone and would often speak of the anonymous person from whose hands he was trying to keep it away.

Charu had tried to know of the person whom he was afraid of but, would refuse to share anything else other than the fact that he would put it to a grave misuse. Before she could find out something more He had deposited the sword in the museum thinking it would be safe and after a few days of it he was dead. Her uncle had cared for her and even he too had disappeared. Charu was sad, confused and in an emotional mess. Yuvaan felt bad for her and realised that she was stuck in the web of some insidious persons although her naive self had nothing to do with it. After an hour or so, Abhay came out of a taxi and this stirred them up and as they watched. He quickly got into the lake's entrance and made way inside. They decided to get out and follow him. So, as they stepped out of the restaurant and headed towards their vehicle, a van swiftly drove by them and in a flash were dragged in it and were told to be quite if they wished to live. It was Ruth along with His henchmen who had taken hold of them.

They frisked them and seized their cellphones. However, Yuvaan had sent an SoS to the police sensing the threat He and charu faced. They were taken to lake's harbor and in front of what looked like a huge door of a container which served as a entrance to the Submarine that was a den of their activities. Yuvaan and Charu were terrified as they headed towards the dark entrance and begged Ruth to realease them, assuring that they would speak to none of it. But, Ruth would have none of it and led them to a secret lift which took them underground into the Sub. As Charu insisted that they leave them since they did have nothing to do with anything of it Ruth gave a smile and remarked that she indeed was connected to all of it. She requested that Yuvaan be let go of at least. But, Ruth reasoned that since she had chosen him it is obvious that he too won't be let go. The lift came to an abrupt halt and as it opened they faced a huge metal door and as Yuvann and Charu contemplated the situation Ruth put in the passcode and the metal door creaked open revealing people in white uniform carrying out their work in an almost robotic manner around some strange, alienlike plants. Charu was dumbstruck at being brought to such a place but, tried hard to make sense of it as she remembered the pictures of those peculiar plants with her father and had wondered what they were. She was astounded to see them in real and wondered what was their connection to her father. 

By the time they reached the end of the long cabin another surprise awaited them when they noticed Abhay among the workers with a feeling of pride on his face. He had been waiting to hand over the khopesh to the Don and leave the place with Charu as a part of the deal according to which Yuvaan would be eliminated from his way and Charu would be His forever along with an undisclosed sum of money. Both Charu and Yuvaan were angry seeing him and tried to confront him saying that he had betrayed their years of friendship. However, Abhay was unfazed by it and maintained that he did all to secure Charu's love and get rid of Yuvaan and now the moment had come. Charu now hated him and Sheathed in anger and shouted that She would rather die than be with him. Yuvaan reprimanded Abhay and called Him a back-stabber saying that if any rivalry was there between them He could have come to him and could have settled like a man rather than behaving like a coward. 

Amidst all the scuffle between the three, Ruth announced that the time had come to meet the Don who had been waiting for them. Abhay was enthusiastic while Charu and Yuvaan were terrified at the prospect of meeting the Don whom they dreaded. Their heartbeats raced as Ruth put in the passcode digits and with a blinking sound the metal door slid revealing a huge room decorated by dim lights and filled with antiques and the plants hanging by in pots and behind a huge mahagony table decorated by corals, seashells and strange-sized yet beautiful rocks from the lake bed flanked by two heavily armed guards sat a heavy, mysterious figure and as the dim light brightened the Earth beneath the two shattered like a heated glass as it was Uncle Vincent on the Throne. 

As Vincent smiled and Ruth smirked, Charu was in horror when she realised the true person she had been living her life with. Uncle Vincent who they had believed to be a docile and humble real estate agent was actually the one pulling strings in the local underworld. It was Him that Charu's father always dreaded as Vincent engaged in illegal business of rare artifacts and antiques. Charu realised it was him who had set up Abhay and Yuvaan against each other with her as the bait. She felt cheated and shattered. 

Vincent revealed that He still cared for Charu and that Abhay would be good match for her since he was ambitious and would also go lengths for her. The sword would now give Him the access to the special formula to harness the drug from the plant and which would open a galore of new riches and power to him. Charu was shocked looking at the real self of her beloved Uncle whom she had loved and trusted so much. She felt broken and defeated and left with nothing in her life. As Vincent took out the sword out of the scabbard, he examined a tattoo like code on it and proceeded towards the secret chamber. However, as He was about to do so a sudden sharp noise was heard outside and in a minute the door slided revealing the police who had taken control of the facility. As they tried to enter the cabin Vincent tried to escape with his two guards with Ruth providing him the necessary distraction. But, the arriving police force soon overpowered them and seized the Sub. They thanked Yuvaan for the timely intimation and even took Abhay into custody. Charu felt devastated but Yuvaan consoles her assuring to by her side always henceforth.
