Karan stood at the edge of a twenty story building. His guitar case, the one he had brought with him before deciding this would be his last day, rested against a nearby bench. The wind rushed through his hair, carrying away the tears streaming down his face. The city below was alive with people and traffic, but he couldn't hear any of it.

There was only one sound.

A voice.

The same voice he had been hearing for years.

It called his name.

"Karan..."

He turned.

His foot slipped.

Darkness.

Karan had loved superheroes since he was a child,Batman,Superman,SpiderMan. He grew up watching their movies, reading comics, and listening to stories about heroes and gods. Deep inside, he always believed that whenever something terrible happened, a savior would appear and rescue him.

He couldn't remember exactly when it had begun, but one day a voice inside his head started speaking to him.It wasn't a stranger's voice. It was his own.

At first, it seemed like it wanted to protect him.

Whenever he wanted to do something exciting, the voice would stop him.

When his friends invited him to race their bikes, the voice whispered,

"Don't. You'll get hurt."

So he didn't go.

When the girl he had secretly loved finally confessed her feelings, the voice said,

"No. She deserves someone better. You'll only hurt her. Stay away."

So he walked away.

One day, after arguing with his father, the voice said,

"You're a grown man now. Why should you listen to him? He doesn't understand you."

And slowly, Karan stopped listening to his father too.

Music had always been his greatest passion. Since childhood, he had played the guitar with his friends, performing at small events and local competitions. Eventually, they formed their own band.

Then came the competition that meant everything.

They lost.

That night, the voice returned.

"You're useless."

"You don't have any talent."

"You only imagined people liked your music."

"Every song you've written... every lyric you've created... it's all worthless."

From that day onward, the voice never left him.

Whenever his parents tried to comfort him...

"Don't listen to them."

Whenever his friends came to check on him...

"They're pretending to care."

Whenever his girlfriend reached out...

"She doesn't love you. She's using you."

The voice isolated him from everyone who loved him.

Then one night, it offered him a solution.

"I know what you need, Karan."

"Take the drugs."

"They'll quiet your mind."

"You'll finally feel peace."

And for the first time...

Karan listened.

And then Everything changed with a single phone call.

On the other end, he heard his father's trembling voice.

"I'm sorry, son..."

Silence.

Then came his mother's cries.

And Karan realized that the voice inside his head had never been protecting him.

It had been destroying him all along.

Now Karan hung from the edge of the building, his fingers slipping as they struggled to hold his weight.

The voice returned.

"Let go, Karan."

"This is the best decision you've ever made."

"Trust me. I'm your best friend. I know what you want."

"You're nothing but a burden."

"If you're gone, your family will finally be happy. Your girlfriend will move on. Your friends won't have to worry about you anymore."

"You couldn't even handle your own life."

"Just let go."

Karan closed his eyes.

For a moment, another voice echoed in his mind.

His father's.

"I'm sorry, son... But I believe in you. Whatever you choose to do, I'll always be there for you."

Then he remembered his mother's cries.

Another memory followed.

His girlfriend holding his hand.

"Karan... I'm here for you. Please talk to me."

Then his friends.

"Don't worry, da. It'll be alright. Come on... let's make another song. We're with you."

Karan opened his eyes.

With every ounce of strength left in his body, he pulled himself back onto the rooftop.

The voice screamed.

"No, Karan!"

"Jump!"

"I know what's best for you!"

"End it now!"

Breathing heavily, Karan looked across the rooftop.

His guitar lay against a nearby bench.

He slowly walked toward it.

His hands trembled as he picked it up.

The voice laughed.

"You have no talent."

"You're a failure."

"Remember every competition you lost."

"Remember what everyone said about you."

"You're useless."

Karan took a deep breath.

He adjusted the guitar on his shoulder.

Karan realized there was no savior coming to rescue him.

He had to save himself.

That day, Karan became the superhero he had been waiting for his entire life.

His fingers touched the strings.

He played a single note.

Then another.

As the melody filled the silence...

The voice grew quieter.

Another chord.

It faded even more.

By the time the song began, the voice had disappeared.

For the first time in years, Karan understood something.

The voice inside his head was never his friend.

The people who stood beside him through his darkest moments were.

From that day on, whenever the voice returned, Karan didn't answer it.

He answered with music.

Because he finally realized...

He was never alone.

As a child, Karan admired superheroes because they saved people.

As an adult, he learned the greatest battle wasn't against monsters, but against the voice inside his own mind.

The day he chose to live, Karan became his own superhero.
