Chapter 1

The romantic dinner date

One day a businessman had taken his wife for a vacation at the most expensive resort to celebrate their 5th marriage anniversary. He had booked the hotel room for a month. They had stayed there for a week. On the 8th day of their vacation, the businessman had planned a romantic date for his wife as a surprise. He even gave them a beautiful dress as a gift for her.

He told her “Honey get dressed and meet me near the poolside”. His wife replied, “Why should I meet you near the poolside?”. He responded to her question “It’s a surprise for you and I can’t reveal it”. She said, “ You know I hate suspense so please tell me”. To her request, he said, “Ok! I will give you a hint; it’s something you wanted for a long time”. This hint kept her thinking.

He said “ Meet me near the poolside after you are dressed” and he left the room. The wife was getting dressed when there was a sudden knock on her room door. Thinking it was her husband she went to open the door. But it was an unexpected visitor.

Chapter 2

The unexpected visitor

The husband was waiting for his wife near the poolside. 30 minutes had passed by and the wife hadn’t appeared this left the husband wondering where she could be. He went back to the room to check on her. But to his dismay, she was not to be seen. He went hither and thither to find her but she was not to be found.

He asked each and every waiter, room serviceman, and woman if by chance they had seen his wife pass by; they replied that they hadn’t seen anyone. Then he went to the resort manager to check the CCTV footage. But the manager said“ He can’t let a customer enter the CCTV footage room. The husband was furious. He replied in rage “My wife has gone missing in your damn resort”.

The manager replied, “ Sir I understand your concern but I am of no use”. He said, “ Please sir, my wife means the world to me and without her, I can’t live. I beg you please let me check the CCTV footage”. The manager was helpless. Then the manager replied, “ Sir why don’t you go take a rest I will put a team to find your wife”. He replied, “ thank you ! but please do find my wife”. The businessman goes back to his room to take a rest. The next morning the man gets up to find a letter.

Chapter 3

The letter

The letter had a piece of the dress. The dress piece was covered in blood. The letter said :

Hey

, Mr. Brown

You may be wondering why is there a letter in your room. Let me answer that question of yours.

And I even know you are perplexed by the dress piece at the end of this letter.

I am writing this letter to let you know that your wife who you love and are concerned about her whereabouts is safe with me. By the way that dress piece belongs to the dress you gave her and the blood is also your wife’s.

As you went to the manager to check the CCTV footage I was offended. So as a punishment I have made a little cut on her face. So if you try to inform the police I will surely not spare your wife

Don’t try to be smart I have all the information about what you are doing at present and what you were doing the previous night

After reading this letter the man was in contemplation. He noticed the weird sign at the bottom of the letter.

Chapter 4

The mystery of the sign

When MR Brown noticed the sign he felt it a little familiar but I couldn’t recall where he had seen the sign. So he decided to call his PA and ask her to check the contracts he had signed with other companies.

After a few hours, the PA called and said “ Sir I have checked each and every contract that you have signed till now but I haven’t found the sign”. MR Brown replied in rage “WHAT!! HOW COULD THAT BE POSSIBLE, I HAVE SURELY SEEN THIS SIGN SOMEWHERE BUT I AM NOT ABLE TO RECALL WHERE I HAVE SEEN IT. ROSE BY HOOK OR BY CROOK FIND OUT WHO USES THIS SIGN IMMEDIATELY. DO YOU UNDERSTAND??”. Petrified Rose replied “ Y-yyyy-Yes Sir. Can y-you p-please give me 2 days time?”. Mr. Brown told “ OK but not more than 2 days”. She said thank you, sir. PS Rose is his PA’s name.

The next day MR Brown got up early, finished breakfast as soon as possible, and went out in search of his wife. 3hours later, he had searched the whole resort but he couldn’t find his wife anywhere. He went to the water park where he had forgotten to check. There he found his wife’s handkerchief on the ground.

Chapter 5

The next clue

As soon as he saw the handkerchief he understood that his wife would be near. So he called 911 and told them that his wife was missing for 2 days. The cops appeared in less than 30 minutes.

They enquired him about what exactly had happened and the details of his wife with the picture of Mrs. Brown. He gave them every single detail. They jotted it down in a book.

But did he know, the kidnapper was watching him from the start he was searching for his wife? The kidnapper was provoked by his move. He kept his word he harmed Mrs. Brown brutally. And sent her picture to Mr. McAdams.

Mr. Brown was terrified that something bad would happen to his wife. So in fright, he showed the cops the picture and told them to find his wife before the kidnapper goes to extremes

The cops replied, “ Sir we know that you are worried about your wife but we are trying our best to find her”.

He noticed the background in the picture and went in search of that type of wall with the help of the cops.

Chapter 6

The most awaited call

After 2 days of continuous investigation, the cops almost gave up. But when Rose called Mr. Brown aka the PA who was in charge of researching about the sign on the letter called and said “ Sir I finally found the user of that sign in less than 48 hours as I promised”. For the first time, Mr. Brown was proud of Rose and he replied: “Finally some good luck, Rose to tell me ASAP who uses that sign”. When Rose was going to reply the phone died and Mr. Brown couldn’t get to know who he was.

Then he borrowed one of the cop's phones and called Rose. Rose picked up the call and said “ Sir the person is Rocky, your cousin's brother”. This left Stephan in relaxation. PS Stephan is Mr. Brown’s name.

Stephan was in a rage. Then it flashed to him that Rocky aka the kidnapper had a farmhouse near this resort. He ran towards the cops and said “ Sir I know where the kidnapper has held my wife.

“Please follow me,” said Stephan. Stephan led the cops towards the farmhouse. But on their way, they were abstracted by a herd of sheep and goats. Stephan knew this was a trick by Rocky to slow their way towards the farmhouse.

Chapter 7

The kidnapper’s move

Rocky was frustrated and scared. He didn’t know what to do. He killed Linda and even left a letter because that was the only way he could get his revenge on Stephan.

The herd of sheep and goats helped Rocky to finish his job and to escape just in time. When the cops arrived at the farmhouse they surrounded it and started screaming “Rocky come out, we know it's you who has kidnapped Linda and we know it's you who has been threatening Mr. Brown for the past 3 days”. But there was no answer from inside. So the cops had no choice except to break in.

They searched the ground floor but found nothing except bloodstains. Then they moved to the first floor to search for Linda and Rocky. One of the cops found Linda’s dead body in the bathtub. The forensic experts took the picture for evidence.

When Stephan heard them tell they found Linda he ran upstairs. He saw Linda’s dead body and broke down into tears. He said crying “ W-ww-why would Rocky kidnap my wife and k-kk-kill her. What have I ever done to him that he would do such a dreadful thing”. The cops said, “We couldn’t find Rocky anywhere in the house but don’t worry Mr. Brown we will surely find Rocky and put him behind bars”.

Chapter 8

In search of the murderer

Stephan said “Sir I found a letter in the dining room. It's written by Rocky:

Hey Stephan

Do you know why I kidnapped your wife and finally murdered her???

That’s because I had to take revenge for what you did to me.

It wasn’t my intention to kill your wife because I loved her. My intention was to kill you

After reading this letter, Stephan was in contemplation. He said “Why would Rocky want to kill me. I have never done anything wrong that would hurt him”…

Then there was a sudden call. It was from the police station. The deputy inspector picked the call and said “ Have you guys found anything yet”.. The guy on the phone told, “ Yes sir !! We have found Rocky..”. The inspector said, “Take him to the station we will be there in 20 minutes”..

20 minutes later, they had finally reached the station. They found Rocky behind bars. The deputy went inside and enquired Rocky. While he was enquiring Rocky interrupted him and said “ I need to speak to Stephan”.

The cops get Stephan inside. When Stephan sees Rocky he runs towards him in rage and slaps him. Stephan says “Why why did you kill my wife even though you loved her”.

Chapter 9

The secret behind the kidnap

Rocky replies “ It wasn’t my intention to kill Linda. I never wanted to kill her in fact I wanted to marry her. But you, you made her fall in love with you due to which she agreed to marry you”. Stephan told, “ I loved her, and I couldn’t stay without her”.

Rocky answered in rage and in tears “ You never loved, you acted to love her for her money”.. Stephan “ I LOVED HER BUT NOT FOR HER MONEY… TELL ME WHY DID YOU WANT TO KILL ME”….

Rocky replies “ BECAUSE you stole everything from me, you ruined my company, my family, and my love life. WHYYYYYY!!!! WHY DID YOU RUIN MY LIFE, WHAT HAVE I EVER DONE TO YOU”

Stephan “ WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO ME ??? don’t you remember”.. Rocky “remember what?”. Stephan tells “ When we were in college you bullied me with the other seniors, you ruined my college life. When we were kids you pushed me into the lake and let me drown.. you never helped when I was starting my company”. Rocky “ Those things were between us why did you bring my family, my company, and Linda into all of this”.

Stephan “ I had to give a taste of your own medicine”..Rocky goes to hit Stephan on his head but the cops come and stop him.

The cops take Stephan outside the room and lock Rocky back in the cell.

Chapter 10

Justice for Linda

After a week the court gives their decision on what to do with Rocky….

He was sentenced to death and was to be hanged on Monday… Stephan was mourning his wife’s death when he had got a call from the Police station who were doing the post mortem of Linda’s dead body …

The cops said “ Mr. Brown we found out that your wife was pregnant for the past 3 months”..Stephan was in relevation… He said, “ Could I please come and see my wife for the last time”. The cops “ For the last time?? Sure”. He said, “ Yes sir I will be leaving this country forever as I have a lot of memories with Linda here and I would like to forget about everything that has happened”. The cops said “ we respect your decision sir” and hung up.

Stephan saw his wife for the last time and left for the airport...

After a few days, It was the day when Rocky was supposed to hang…

The cops took Rocky to the Gallows ( the execution area where people are hanged )… They tied the thread on his neck and he was killed …

Stephan saw the news and said, “Finally Linda can Rest in peace”…
