The Silent Murder

Kriti was riding high on her latest blockbuster movie "The Silent Murder" where she played the role of a protagonist who through her deft advocate skills unraveled the mystery surrounding the murder of her husband. The critically acclaimed movie catapulted her to superstardom hitherto never seen before. Wishes flooded her social media account and people all over the world fell head over heels for her role in the movie. Every newspaper and news channel was in awe of her incredible acting skills and predicted her to win the Filmfare award in the best female actress category. Directors and producers left no stones unturned in churning out a proposal for the new queen of Bollywood to act in their movies. She organized a party wherein her close friends and other stars of Bollywood had thronged to commemorate the success of the movie. Rizwan, Aditi, Haran, and Neerja were the notable Bollywood stars who graced the occasion to congratulate the new queen of the film industry. Kriti's husband Naman was also part of the party. He had no proclivity towards parties and films and he looked incongruous in a place filled with party seekers. Some of the stars laughed at him being amused by his behaviour. Kriti who had been in an inebriated state too joined them in poking fun at her husband which did not go down well with the latter. Bollywood star Rizwan added fuel to the fire by saying it would have been awesome had he been Kriti's husband. He even endeavored to touch the actress who was in Midas touch inappropriately. Naman immediately left the party and rushed to his abode. He stood on his balcony against the backdrop of the plethora of houses that seemed like a speck on a somber night. Kriti had a delightful evening with appreciation pouring from all directions.  

The nuisance materialized at the party sparked a row between them the next morning. The huge success had already gotten into the head of Kriti. 

"I am the most loved actress in Bollywood today," she boasted. "Actors and directors stand in a queue to cast me in their movies. You should be proud to be my husband and how dare you argue with me."

"I don't care how successful you are. You cannot treat me like your servant. I am your husband and you better respect that."

"You demand respect from the most stylish and versatile actress in the film industry?" she looked amused. "You are no match to my beauty, perhaps you might have done something incredible in your previous life, so you are blessed to have me as your wife. Crores of men will stand in queue for me. You bloody moron!!"

"How dare you call me a moron? You seem to be arousing the bottled-up anger in me. I will kill you!!"

Following their heated arguments, something bizarre materialized in Kriti's room. She was lying motionless in a pool of blood. Her parents had just come with the sweets to congratulate her but they were appalled to see their daughter dead in her room. The smile steeped in pride evaporated and they welcomed sobs laden with pain. Given the popularity of Kriti, it did not take much time for the news to go viral all over the country. Flanked by police officers, Naman was apprehended and taken to jail. Kriti's parents who looked inconsolable swore at their son-in-law. Things had taken a drastic change in a matter of hours with Naman pushed behind bars and Kriti was gone forever. Folks from the film fraternity expressed their condolences over the untimely death of the leading queen of Bollywood. Some of them did not mince their words in blaming Naman for being the main accused who put an abrupt end to her film career. Some of them directed their blame toward God for making Naman her husband. 

"Had she been alive, she would have taken Bollywood to incredible heights," one of the film stars said.

"I was pretty excited to act alongside one of the best acting geniuses of our country. Unfortunately, my chance has been foiled," another actor added.

Naman's brother Shivan couldn't fathom the fact that his brother had murdered his wife. He thought there was something amiss and he being a barrister decided to fight for his brother. He believed his brother was trapped in a deception net and he deemed it his duty to unravel the mystery hidden beneath the cloak. Chances of Naman's acquittal looked slim with mounting evidence staring fiercely at him. The media did everything possible to tarnish the reputation of Naman who was famous for being the silent husband of Kriti. He was blamed for being envious of his wife who was the superstar of Bollywood. His behaviour at the party was called the prelude to the subsequent murder. With no evidence at his disposal, Naman was staring at a life sentence that was to be slapped against him. His brother Shivan pleaded with the court to grant him a week to collate the evidence after which he agreed to any decision made by the court. The fallout of Kriti's murder had a devastating impact on Bollywood with recent movies tanking at the box office. The only news which was doing rounds was Kriti's murder. Her fans compelled the police to ensure Naman released a statement walking through what happened that morning following their heated arguments. Some wanted him to be hanged for blowing the simple conflict out of proportions. The future looked bleak for Naman who had not uttered a single word following his wife's murder.

With just one week at his disposal to prove his brother innocent, every passing day only heightened his anxiety. He couldn't resist the thoughts of his brother being slapped with a death sentence. He ran from pillar to post to see if he could find any evidence which would prove his brother innocent. He forsook his sleep as the days flew by but the case seem to slip from his hands. Seven days passed and the hearing was to take place. Silence overhung Shivan's face as he scrambled to the courtroom. 

The judge asked him if he had managed to gather any evidence to prove Naman innocent. There was silence for a while and people thought that would be the end of Naman. What followed next was something no one would have ever predicted. The maid named Kavitha working in Kriti's house was missing ever since the latter's murder. No one even knew her, leave alone suspect her as they strongly believed Naman was the perpetrator of the murder. Shivan had sleepless nights and he hit a bar the previous day to let go of the pain which seemed to break him inside out. Next to the bar, he happened to see Kavitha who was engrossed in the rave party. He couldn't believe his eyes because she used to be so simple and there was a complete transformation in her looks and her conduct. She was slapping someone amid the party which raised his eyebrows. He quickly informed the police about the illegal drug party and he came to know that Kavitha was the organizer of the drug party. The onslaught of thoughts overwhelmed him because he just couldn't fathom how she became so rich all of a sudden. When police grilled her she confessed the reality which had been brushed under the carpet. Bollywood actress Aditi couldn't digest her contemporary Kriti's success in Bollywood. Aditi had multiple offers in her kitty and she was the leading actress until Kriti forayed into films. Aditi desperately wanted to get back her lost stardom which she lost to her nemesis Kriti. Kriti looked like an unstoppable juggernaut on her way and she wanted to get rid of her come what may. She knew Kriti was embroiled in a dispute with her husband which she wanted to cash on. With the help of her minions, she abducted the watchman of Kriti's house. She had spiked the juice which Naman gulped and instantly he fell unconscious. With no more hurdles on her part, she ventured into her nemesis Kriti's house to execute her brutal plan fiercely. Manifesting their brutal side of hers, she bludgeoned the actress to death. Her luck seemed to have run out because the murder act was captured on the phone by none other than the housemaid, Kavitha. Realizing the gravity of the situation, Aditi silenced Kavitha by rendering her a huge amount of money. Kavitha had hitherto never seen such a huge amount, and she agreed to not conceal the truth but rather go on a drug spree to live a lavish life. 

Based on the evidence provided Naman was acquitted reliving all cases slapped against him. He embraced his brother who despite not having any assistance from others, did a terrific job to collect evidence and prove his brother innocent. Kavitha found a place in jail for concealing the truth and organizing illegal parties. Aditi too followed her for murdering the superstar of Bollywood.
