Brothers for sisters, sisters for brothers celebrating the festival of Raksha Bandhan to cherish their unique bond. The Moon and Sun for one's parents when every parent wishes to be blessed with a daughter and son and when they are born the family gets complete. To stand with each other in case of any dilemma or adversity whether it be to become an umbrella in a rainy weather, heater in a snowy morning or ice-cream in the summer. The brother- sister bond is so pure that no evil force can break or tarnish the bond. Never expect anything in return, never bring forward your personal greed or ambition. Respect the honesty in fulfilling the requirements. It doesn't matter how many brothers or sisters you have you can even make your close buddy your brother or sister. A Rakhi is just a symbol and a memoir. They colourful, vibrant Rakhi being sold at the melas with stunning designs is an overwhelming experience for your eyes. Fights might happen over silly things and that's okay, it won't take much time to resolve because of affection for each other. Remembering the favorite things and gifting them brings a smile on the face. Sitting at the backseat of the cycle and your brother dropping you at the Music classes, when you exhaust your pocket money your sibling lending you some money, you can confide anything to them when you cannot share with your parents, the first person to hug you when you achieve something, the first person to motivate you when you couldn't win any race. They are always with you like your second mother or father. Words won't suffice to show gratitude to them but still they will make you smile. Being older than your sibling has it's own responsibility and being the youngest you get an extra dose of love. There are so many anecdotes to share, choosing one seems a difficult task. Let me think for a while. .
Being a single child you sometimes feel protected yet feel lonely compared to those who have siblings. But your cousin brothers definitely fill the void. I have three immediate cousin brothers. Each one of them has taught me something special. My eldest brother has taught me the virtue of forgiveness, kindness and to shine in the crowd with the help of your academic career. My middle brother has taught me the act of selfless service to elderly, be helpful, accept yourself and perseverance despite failures. My youngest brother has taught me to stay strong, bold, confident despite the traumatic events of your life. I just hope I put into actions whatever I have learnt from them. Siblings give you wings to fly, add colours to your gloomy days, always there to party with you. Lord Balram and Lord Krishna's sister Shubhadra devi is the perfect example from Mythology to celebrate this festival. I always tie Rakhi to Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman as a sweet gesture. Even from their busy schedule they will always find time to pick up your call. A letter might melt their heart. This splendid form of friendship shall grow like a banyan tree as the year passes. May each Raksha Bandan bring abundant joy, happiness and bliss to all brothers and sisters around the world. This is just the beginning. .
