The Revival

“Your smile lights up my world,

Your love gives me my strength,

Your faith in me leaves me actualized,

Because you are my consent.

Your trust is my energy,

Your words, a love potion ,

Your calm is my serenity

Because you are my ocean.”

My admiration for him kept running in my mind. I folded the paper in which I put down my feelings and carefully placed it in the bag. “Hey there chirpy bird, please inform sir that I’m done with Eighty percent of the data entries, rest I shall finish as soon as I reach home.”

“Okay” She didn’t even bother to shift the receiver away from her mouth, I so pity the opposite person on the phone.

My phone notified me of a message “I reached, baby.” Reading that I was highly motivated to drive even faster. In a few minutes I was home. As I opened the door, I made sure that he couldn’t come to know of me being in the house. I kept searching for him through the hall, the kitchen, the hallway, only to find him in a deep sleep on the bed.

As I ran my fingers through his hair, I checked the clock of my laptop, 1:00 am, it flashed. I knew it was late, I knew there was work the next day, I knew I had to be up early, but all I wanted at that moment was to keep looking at his beautiful face. I had a complete view of the full-moon, radiant and enchanting. The tranquil moonlight fell on my man’s face, making him look even more pearlescent, it felt as if it was a full moon that night, simply to light him up. His skin glittered up, his finely crafted nose reflected some light and so did his partly hairy and partly smoothed cheek. His lips, only if I had words to describe them, anyone would fall in love. I wonder at times how could he fall for me and how lucky I am to have this man.

My laptop beeped, hungry for some charging, that’s when it struck me I had to complete some data entries. Quickly I finished them off and was back beside him, again my fingers ran through his hair and my lips formed a smile. I wanted to read that poem out to him, my first ever poem. I wanted him to know that it was all for him, well waking him up from sleep wasn’t the best idea, so I resolved to reciting it out in a low voice

“I  Love You, yes I do,

Not because you’re handsome, rich and kind

But because the heart in you is forever mine”

“I love you too” his husky voice reached my ears. Melodious, as always. A smile casted on my lips as soon as I saw him.

“I know how much you love me.” His gaze dug deep into my eyes. The very next moment I was in his arms only to realise how much I missed him in the past 3 months.

“You are not going again leaving me, get that?” my voice brittle.

“Yes my lady, promise, no more distance.”  His fingers wiping off my tears and his lips very gently planted on my forehead, as an assurance.
