The Rebel
The Rebel

With frail body and broken spirit, he rose
Stood in the twilight a while,
Could not find a path out of the winding way.
Feebly heaved a sigh and dragged himself out of the deep,
Unnoticed unrecognized he crept up to the path
That promised sunshine.
His undying faith stood by him, so did the love that
Fluttered dimly in his heart.
Met many a soul who cautioned him
Of the dreaded dubious trail.
Still, he moved towards his predicament
Broken, beaten
With a rebel in his heart.
