THE KILL ROOM

Note: This story is based on Author’s fiction. It doesn’t apply to any historical references or real-life incidents. This story follows Non-linear narration and the events are explained under chronological format.

Vijay Adhithya has always dreamed of becoming a Kollywood film star since his childhood. After completing his schooling in Coimbatore, he completed radio and television and in Bangalore University and got his degree in the year 2013. After completing college, he also took some films. But the film he took, was not liked by the others except his family and friends.

So when his dream of filmmaking is gradually leaving him, a breakthrough came in 2017. Vijay is a huge core fan of Leader. So what Vijay decided is, he decided to write a script like the prequel of Leader. After writing the script he sent it to his colleagues. After reading the script, his colleagues were very impressed, and said that the script was too good and he can take this as a movie.

As soon as such a feedback arrived, Vijay was very happy.

“Yes, of course I will make this a movie.” He said and sends his script to many actresses and actors in Kollywood. He did this, so that if anyone like this script they may act in his film. Now amazingly, the original actor of the Leader film, Rajiv Hassan read the script and he liked it very much. So he said okay for acting in Vijay’s movie.

So this passion project of Vijay has become a huge success project for him. Vijay took that film and it was also released and the film was also going well. But it didn’t take him to the extent of making Kollywood notice him. However, this film gave him a status of a filmmaker. Not only that, like how he wrote prequel script from Leader, in the same way, Vijay thought that the script he writes from his favorite movie will be a hit.

Likewise, in 2017, he thought of writing another script from a film called Dexter and maybe take another film with that. Dexter is a very popular TV show. This is a very scary story of a serial killer. In that, his name is Dexter. Actually, how he will kill his victims in that means, he will bring his victims to the kill room, where he will kill the people.

That small room will be completely covered with plastic. The wall, ceiling and the floor of the room everything will be covered with plastic sheets. He will always kill his victims only with a knife very cruelly. After that, he will dismember the dead body. When he killed his victims, their blood will be scattered all over the room, but it will not stain in the walls or floor of the room.

Why because, that’s why he put that plastic sheets. All the blood will be on that plastic sheets. Now he will just roll all the plastic sheets, and take the dismembered parts of the body and dump that into the ocean. Vijay loves this TV show very much. So Vijay was inspired by that and thought that, his next film should be a similar serial killer movie. But without being a fiction movie like Dexter, he wanted his film to be based on true events.

At the same time, when he was thinking like that, he came to know about a murderer(called as “The Ooty Killer”) in Coimbatore, in his own city itself. That murderer was not caught by the police. So what Vijay thought is, he decided to write the story based on him. So for the next several weeks he began to research about the room killer and he searched about the victims. He started to find the timeline of what happened to everyone.

Overall, he collected the full details of this case. Without even leaving a small information, after collecting all the information that he could gather, by using the information that he collected, he wrote a 42-page script for his movie. After writing his first draft, within a few days, somehow his script started leaking.

When the people read that leaked script, it made everyone shudder. It was very cruel. So eventually, the scripts got in the hands of Coimbatore police also. ACP Anuvishnu read that script. As soon as he read this script, he understood that, there is a big problem in this. Immediately he found and went to Vijay’s house.

Not only he and the police team went there, he said to Vijay that, “He should never take this as a film whatever happens.” Vijay is confused and questioned him for the reasons. But, Anuvishnu didn’t tell anything about that case to him. Hence, Vijay recalled the script, which he had written in the paper.

2015, OOTY

A 26-year old Joseph was very calm person. He worked as a security guard in a casino. Recently, his life has turned upside down. Why because, a few months ago, his wife left him, saying that she was not interested to live with him anymore. But Joseph loved his wife very much. So he couldn’t bear his wife’s decision and he started to feel very sad.

After his wife left him, he tried to keep him busy as much as he can. Only then his mind will not worry about anything, he thought. But none of it worked out and he is very lonely and heartbroken.

OCTOBER 3, 2015, FRIDAY

When it was like this, on October 3, 2015, Friday, when he came home from his work in the afternoon, he decided to find him another partner as he can’t stay like this forever. So he immediately went to a dating site and created his profile. After that he started seeing all the profiles of the women in his area.

At first, he was not interested in anyone. But then he saw a girl’s profile. The name of the young girl with a blonde hair was Sheena. Not only that, that girl was living in Ooty. Immediately he messaged her and introduced himself. He gets a reply from that girl after a few minutes. So for the next few hours, both of them began to talk.

And both of them shared everything between them. And finally, since they both were in the same area, and in the same city, Sheena asked him to meet her for the dinner that night and asked to go for a movie. Joseph who was not expecting this, said that he would come and pick her up and asked her for the address to pick her up.

She said that she is not comfortable to share her address directly on the dating website. Instead, she gave a confusing land mark directions to come to her home.

“If you follow that directions and landmarks, you can finally reach my house.” Sheena said. Not only that, she also said that: “After you reach there finally, don’t come to my house directly. There will be a car garage there. It will be slightly opened. Come in through the garage, and if you come outside that garage, you will reach my house backyard. Come to the backyard and stand at the back door of my house. And I will meet you there.” For Joseph it was a very different directions and all the instructions were very strange.

But at the same time, what he thought is, that: “Ok. That girl doesn’t know who I am. Just today I talked to that girl and that too on a dating site. So maybe to have extra safety from me she is taking precautions like this.” So he thought that he must not think bad of that girl.

So Joseph said Sheena: “I would follow the direction and reach there soon.” After taking a bath, he dressed well and got into his car. He started following the direction which was given by that girl.

15 MINUTES LATER

About 15 minutes later, after going to many places, as said in that direction, he finally reached a place. He stopped his car there and looked to his right, when he saw there, there was a garage. When he saw it, immediately he understood that it was Sheena’s garage. Why because, like Sheena said that garage was opened for him to come.

But it was not fully opened. If he wants to go inside that garage, he must bend down or crawl into it. So Joseph turned off his car. He got out of the car and saw whether he could see Sheena’s house behind the garage. Maybe Sheena might be standing somewhere else there and he saw whether he can look for her.

But the garage in front completely hid Sheena’s house. He couldn’t see it. Then he went inside the garage as Sheena said. Joseph went near the garage and there were two big shutters. And only one shutter was slightly open. So he crawled under that shutter and went into that garage and stood up.

Now it was completely dark in that garage. And the light inside there didn’t glow. But now only the light from the small entrance was there. When he was looking in that dim light, that entire garage was empty and nothing is inside there. But then he head a very strange feeling.

What is that mean, all sides of that garage(Walls, Ceiling, floor everything was covered with plastic sheets). At that time, he doesn’t know why the plastic sheets are for. Not only that, he didn’t care about that. So, to just come out of that garage, that is, to come to the backside of Sheena’s house, so he started walking to the backside of the garbage.

When he reached to the door and tried to open the door handle, an unbearable pain occurred on his back neck. Suddenly he looked back. He saw a person wearing a mask and standing with a stun gun in his hand. Immediately, he started to get really scared. So Joseph tried to run away to that small opening of that garage. But the person wearing that mask grabbed him, and pressed his stun gun in Joseph’s stomach.

The next second, Joseph felt an unbearable pain. He couldn’t do anything and fell down on the floor. Now the attacker released the trigger and Joseph crawled down to the ground from that attacker to move away from him. He thought of escaping somehow by going to the garage door.

But the attacker was in between him and the floor. Not only that, this time, the attacker had a real gun. Now he was aiming at Joseph.

Joseph couldn’t understand, what is happening there now and where he was being caught. And at the same time, when he was thinking like this, the attacker started to shout at Joseph and threatened him to lie down on the floor.   

Now Joseph thought that he was going to die. His hands and legs began to shiver from fear that he was going to be killed. He started doing everything that the attacker said because of the death fear. The attacker came near Joseph who was lying down, and covered Joseph’s eyes with a tape.

After Joseph’s eyes was tapped and covered, he couldn’t even see the dim light now. Now suddenly, Joseph felt emotional because he was going to die in a few minutes. Thinking of his family, ex-wife and his friends, he began to long for them, and all of their memories came and went. He thought of seeing everyone for the last time. But he knew that, it won’t happen.

While he was lying on the floor thinking about all this, and when these thoughts are running through his mind, again he came to the present that is, realization. No one knows that he came here. He didn’t tell anyone where he is going. Suppose if the attacker killed him, who will find his body?

Even his family and friends will not know about his death. All this started racing in his mind while he was lying down. That’s when the killer was a few feet away from where he was lying and he heard some sounds like as if he was fixing something like chains and handcuffs. 

What does Joseph thought in this blindfolded situation means, suppose if that killer tied him with that chain, then that’s all, everything is finished. But that should not happen. Suddenly his survival adrenaline starts to secrete and working.

Definitely I’m going to die here. There’s no change in it.” Joseph thought. But, he decided to fight and die. Joseph, who was lying down, took a deep breath, and stood up. He threw away the tape patch that was stuck to his eyes, and looked at that killer standing there, and said that he is not going to listen what he says. And he started making very aggressive noises saying that he is not going to die like this.

Hearing this, the killer who was preparing the chains did not understand anything. He was shocked to see this sudden changes from Joseph. But then the killer took his gun and aimed at Joseph. But before that Joseph suddenly jumped on the attacker, and threw away the gun in his hand.

When he threw the gun, Joseph realized that, that gun doesn’t weigh that much. It’s a fake gun. Now Joseph is very confident and started to beat that attacker. But since the attacker was very strong and very big than Joseph, he pushed Joseph to the ground and sat on top of him, and started punching in Joseph’s face. But since his surviving adrenaline is too high, Joseph didn’t feel any pain.

When the killer was hitting his face in all the times, Joseph’s only purpose is to, go to the garage door and escape from there. Even when the killer is beating him, Joseph slipped away from the killer somehow and ran towards the door. Exactly, when he came running to that door, the attacker got hold of Joseph’s jacket. But Joseph just turned around and removed his jacket, he rolled down under the door and came out.

When he came out of the garage, all his strength went away in a second. He can’t even take the next step now. Why because, the effect of the stun gun which he used at the beginning, his adrenaline overpowered and he fought. But now, his body lost every strength.

So after falling out of the garage, he started struggling. At the same time, that attacker, who was inside the garage, grabbed Joseph’s legs and started pulling him inside the garage. But Joseph without leaving he started to shout and roll. He kicked away the killer’s hands and suddenly, his adrenaline kicks again because of his fear.

Immediately he started running again. He didn’t even go to his car standing there. He only thought of going to the police where there is human movement. From there he ran past a few houses, and collapsed and fall down in a busy walking trial.

When he fell down, he looked for someone who might come on that way. When he was looking like that, he sees the killer running towards him. Joseph was very tired that he can’t even get up. But when he looked at his side, he saw a couple coming in that walking path. At the same time, the couple also saw Joseph lying on the ground.

Immediately, those couples ran towards Joseph. Then Joseph started pleading and crying to the couples to save him from being murdered. At the same time, the killer came to the place where Joseph and the couples are there. Now the couples, Joseph and the killer all three are in one place.

Now what the killer did is, he started acting like Joseph’s friend.

“Hey, come on, why are you acting like this? It’s just a game. Why are you overacting it? What if they took it seriously? Why are you doing like this? Come to garage immediately. I will meet you there.” The killer said. After that the killer walks back to the garage.

Joseph, who was lying down saw the couples. The couples didn’t understand what happened there. Is this a prank or they are diverting them from stealing something. They started to be confused without understanding anything. So the couples asked Joseph to save himself and left the place.

Now Joseph was lying on the ground. The couples who came to help also left. Joseph, looked at that garage, and that killer was coming and going in and out of the garage. So, what Joseph did is: “This is my last chance. And I should not fail it.”

So when the killer does not see he gathered his full strength and ran towards his car. He sat inside the car and started it. He quickly escaped from the killer and somehow came to his house. After Joseph came home, he thought about escaping from that great danger.

At the same time, Joseph thought that he was caught in such a situation. He thought that he was caught in such a cat-fishing and started to feel bad about himself. He was caught by a psycho. That Sheena is not true. It’s that psycho killer. But he don’t know why this happened to him. And he also didn’t understand why he targeted him.

So what Joseph thought is, the thing that he got into such a nasty thing and got out of it, he decided not to tell anyone. So he started to forget about what happened and started to pass.

A WEEK LATER    

After a week since then, on October 8^th, from the same Ooty, a 38-year old Gilles started using the same dating website as Joseph. Gilles who was working in a gas company, spent all his time in his computer. Though Gilles has lot of close friends, he had no romance with girls. So Gilles also started searching his romantic partner in that website like Joseph.

He started searching a lot of girls profile near his area. But he didn’t have any interest in any of that. Now he saw a profile. The name of the beautiful girl in that profile with a blonde hair is Gen. She is in the same area as Gilles. So immediately he texted that girl.

In a few minutes, he got a reply. Both of them started to talk. That night itself they decided to go on a date. And planned to go for a movie. Gilles asked her for the address. But that girl said that she has a calm character and said that she is not comfortable with sharing the address in this website.

And said the same directions and landmarks, that was previously said to Joseph. Since Gen’s photo was really good, Gilles liked her. So he wanted to meet her and didn’t notice anything else. So he got ready to meet the girl. But before going to Gen’s house, he forwarded that strange directions message to his best friend Aariyaan. For a joke he said to his friend: “If I went missing on that night, here only I went.”

He got into his car and followed the directions. That directions led him to the garage where Joseph went before one week. Gilles stopped his car and got down to look around, and like Gen said, there was a garage. Not only that, the door of that garage was slightly opened.

And inside that, there was light glowing. Not only that, he saw someone walking inside that garage. So Gilles saw his watch and realized that he came there 15 minutes earlier. But it’s okay, Gen only will be there in that garage. He decided that Gen will not mistake him for going and saying hi to her.

So he got down from the car and walked towards the garage. When Gilles went closer to the garage, the lights inside the garage was suddenly turned off. When he saw that the garage lights were off he stopped there itself.

Why the lights were off suddenly? Whether Gen is giving signal to me, not to come?” Gilles who has no idea of what was happening, decided to go and say hi. So he went near the garage, and bent down by the small entrance, and said hello and asked whether anyone is there.

In a few minutes, the lights were turned on. Now he saw that the garage was fully covered by the plastic sheets. Not only that, the one who was inside was not Gen. He saw a person.

Now Gilles looked at that person by bending down. And the person who also saw him inside the garage, said: “Hi, my name is Harry. I’m a designer. I rented this garage from Gen. I spoke with Gen. She said that you, both were meeting tonight. She is getting ready lately. I think she’ll be there within 20 minutes. So can you please come after 20 minutes? I myself will take you to Gen.”

Gilles couldn’t understand anything.

“Did Gen setup any surprise?” He thought that, she is hiding that with the plastic covers with the designer. And he said that there is no problem and he will come in 20 minutes and he left that place.

Now, Gilles came to his car from the garage. When he came, he took his car, and for the next 20 minutes he wandered around the city and came there again. He saw the garage when he was parking his car, and the light inside the garage was off. So what Gilles thought is, the designer might have left.

“What is there for me to talk with him, let him go and he also looked very strange. I myself will go to Gen.” Gilles said and he got down from his car. He went near the garage. Then through the slightly opened shutter, he crawled inside the garage. From there he started walking towards the outdoor of the garage.

And when he was about to hold the door handle, something heavy fell on his head. Immediately, Gilles kept his hands above his head and he turned around with an unbearable pain. And the person who was standing before him was none other than, Harry whom he saw just a few minutes ago.

He was standing with a large iron pipe in his hands. Now Gilles started screaming in fear and called the police for help. But Harry started beating Gilles in his head with the iron pipe. Gilles was collapsed and fell down on the ground.

But he was not fainted. He was too scared and kept his hands above his head. And said that, “Leave me. Don’t do anything bad to me.” He looked up.

Now Harry stood in front of him. And Gilles pleaded Harry not to kill him and said that he will give a lot of money and he will give him whatever he want. And said that he won’t tell anybody about this and asked Harry to leave him.

Harry laughed at Gilles upon hearing this and asked him, “Really? If I leave you, you will not say anyone about this?”

And before Gilles answered that, he started beating Gilles’s face with an iron pipe. But Gilles didn’t faint now. Instead, he hold the iron pipe with his hands and started pleading Harry to leave him. Now Harry, who was angry holds that iron pipe in one hand, and took a knife with his other hand. Seeing this, Gilles left the iron pipe which he was holding and started pleading not to kill him.

Now Harry started to scare Gilles with the knife near his face. After that, he holds Gilles’s shoulder and stabbed the knife into his stomach. Due to the unbearable pain, Gilles started to scream for help. Harry too the knife out from his stomach and stabbed in his neck. After that, he left the knife, and started watching Gilles struggling for his life by standing above the plastic sheets.

But after Gilles died, Harry felt sad. Thinking of Gilles’s fast death, he said: “I killed him too fast. Should have played a lot of mind games.” He felt sad that, he could have tortured him more. So he thought that he will look after the next one.

After Gilles died, Harry dismembered his body and folded all the plastic sheets. He collected all the evidence, and dumped everything in the drainage.

PRESENT

This is that script. At this point, Vijay’s script ended. After that, none don’t know what he did to Harry. Because, Vijay didn’t write that script after that and didn’t finish his script completely. Before that only, police officer Anuvishnu came there and said him not to write the script or take a move. When Anuvishnu read Vijay’s script, he already knew, who owns that garage.

Before Gilles came to Harry’s house, he had forwarded the directions and message to his friend. So when Aariyaan(Gilles’s friend) filed a missing complaint about Gille to Anuvishnu in the police station of Ooty, he also showed that message to him. The police followed that strange directions and went.

And finally they reached the garage. That garage doesn’t belong to the beautiful Sheena and also doesn’t belong to the beautiful Gen. And it doesn’t belong to designer Harry also. That means, who owns that garage?

That garage belong to an upcoming young filmmaker. And that’s none other than Vijay. When Anuvishnu found that the garage belongs to Vijay, he was so co-operative to him and said him to search the garage.

When Anuvishnu started searching, he didn’t find any evidence. And what Vijay said is, “I’m not the only one who is using this garage. A lot of people were using the garage.” But when police searched Vijay’s laptop, they saw a hidden document. And that is the 42 page script.

So Anuvishnu read that script. When they were reading the script, they noticed a shocking matter. What is that mean. Since Ooty killer’s first victim Joseph felt embarrassed, he decided not to tell anyone what happened to him. And he didn’t tell anyone about that. He didn’t tell anyone, except Anuvishnu and his police department.

At some point, Joseph went to Anuvishnu and said every little details that had happened to him. But he didn’t share it to anyone else. So only Joseph and Anuvishnu knows what happened to him. No one else knows this except them. When it was like this, every little thing that happened to Gilles and even the tiny details were matched with Vijay’s script. That’s why the police was shocked when they first read Vijay’s script.

In Vijay’s script, the reason why it matched with the things that happened to Joseph is, and the reason how he know everything that happened to Joseph, when Joseph was attacked in that garage, Vijay was in that garage.

Because, Vijay is the Ooty’s killer. He wished that the killer in the movie must be as good as the killer in Dexter. So for Vijay, how to bring the victims to the kill room without any doubts, and thought of experiencing how would it exactly feel to kill him. Only when he exactly feel that, he would be able to write the script accurately. Then only his movie will be a great success. And it will be the most realistic serial killer movie.

So he thought that he will get a chance in Kollywood. So he created a fake profile in the dating website. In that only, Gilles and Joseph got trapped. While Joseph escaped, Gilles was attacked. And he wrote that experience about the attack. So that only changed into the script. Though he did same thing to both of them, only Gilles was killed successfully and Vijay disposed his body. He wrote that experience in continuation with Joseph.

Vijay began to live as his movie character, and converted it as a script. The title which Vijay selected for his movie is, “SK Confessions.” SK means, Serial killer confession. Not only that, since there is no end in that script, he might thought of killing more people and adding it to the script. Anuvishnu submitted that script against him. Vijay was given a life sentence in the Madras High court. Now he is in jail.
