Amit was driving along the night. His mind and head were empty and filled with all his office stuff. He checks his phone as he drove along the empty highway. A message pinged on his friend's Whatsapp group.

Zara: How about we go on a trip?

Raj: Awesome. Amit has a car, right? You can bring along Diya.

Amit: She will love it. How does Sunday sound? Then an entire week to ourselves.

Raj: Yeah sure.

Amit smiled.

He reached home. Diya was on the couch watching Squid Game.

"You know you are scared of dolls. Why do you watch this?" Amit asked.

"For fun." She shrugged.

Amit smiled. "So, we are going on a trip with Raj and Zara."

Diya's eyes widened. She hugged Amit.

The next days were a huff. The duo went on to complete all of the works in their offices. Finally, it was Friday, and all the packing was done, Raj and Zara were in Amit's home. They caught up in all their latest things.

Finally, Sunday came, and the group all piled in Amit's car.

"I booked a house on the hill. It's awesome." Raj said.

The group drove off and reached the Ghats.

By night, they were in the middle of nowhere.

"What's with men and asking directions?" Diya asked angrily.

"For the 7000th time, I am not asking a parrot on the roadside for directions!"

"The GPS is down. We are stuck here."

They drove further in the woods. Until a dark figure on the road stopped them. It was laying on the road like it was sleeping. It didn't wear anything.

"Probably a drunk dude." Amit honked his horn. By the 5th horn, the figure vanished.

"What?"

Suddenly, thunder clapped so loud that it was a miracle no one was deafened. The figure was slowly approaching them, only that it was now walking on the trees.

It vanished again until a body fell from the sky on the windshield.

Everyone screamed as the face was too ugly to witness. Amit stepped on the gas and the body slumped off the car.

They screamed until they reached civilization.

"OK. The house is right up there." Raj pointed.

After hours of hiking, they reached the house. The interior was classic. There was a fireplace, a TV, 3 bedrooms, a dining table, countless windows. The group loved the place! Amit immediately freshened up and joined Raj. He was watching TV while the girls were ordering food.

"Hey, I hope there are no hard feelings because of what happened a long time ago," Amit said.

Raj scoffed. "No, man." The old friends now became best friends and ate together. They laughed around, not knowing that their entire lives were about to turn around.

By night, the group went to sleep. Amit woke up to get some water when he heard noises from the unused bedroom. Curiously, he went in and saw the same disfigured body glaring at him.

He screamed and everyone woke up. The body glared at all of them.

"Here......someone....... dies.......from......suicide." The body said.

The group looked at each other.

"Reason......is......someone......" The body lunged towards the group, but Zara kung-fu kicked it away.

"What?"

"It told us that someone in our group died."

"How? We are all here."

"Anyone heard of ghosts?"

"They are not real."

"How do you explain this?" Raj pointed to the heap of spirit.

"He's right. Until we bring peace to the spirit, we all are suspects."

"First, we gotta find out all our pasts."

"Amit." Raj pointed to a chair.

"I cheated on my best friend, and I robbed someone."

Zara:

"I cheated on my husband with his best friend."

Raj:

"I never forgave anyone."

Diya:

"I cheated on my boyfriend with his best friend."

"OK. Now we gotta figure out who did what."

"Really?" A dark voice said. It belonged to Raj. He was in the air, dripping blood all over. Zara joined him, in an equally disgusting way.

"You cheated on me with my wife and my girlfriend, and I died because of you, Amit! I brought you here.....to share my pain." Raj devoured Amit, as he screamed in pain.

Zara looked at Diya, and that was the end of the duo.

The next morning, Officer Adav checked the scene.

"The house on the hill's 5th murder. Raj is calling me out now." He said to himself in a smug smile.
