The future and the present (P2 - finale)

Most stories have a 3-part structure. An attention-grabbing beginning. A detailed middle and a well-deserved ending. But for Future the story was slightly different. This story of amore started strong. Through calls and texts and meet ups, Future and Present grew closer till the point they became inseparable. The day begin with them thinking about each other and would only end once good nights are told. Moments of innocence and passion weaved in their hearts. Yet slowly things started going downhill. When they took things too fast. And since then, it was an on and off and on and off journey. Future would find reasons to go while Present would try the best to hold on. Future would be amazed at how much Present wanted to be together. But cycles of negativity, insecurity, and low self-belief pulled Future away slowly. Arguments would come in form of other uninvited guests. The minor cracks turned to gaps. yet somehow Present held on. And somehow Future held on to. But that wasn't enough. After nearly 18 months of trying and reassuring, Present started losing hope. Present started questioning what they shared. Present started distancing. and that was when Future realized the toxicity it had injected in their story. Future started once again. Trying with all its might. To make things right. To at least be a part of Present 's life like it was before. But just like others, Present proved the same thing. That future overhelps and over cares and over supports and that is burdening. Future refused to accept at first but slowly it started to learn to see the signs. Yet in the deepest corner of heart, Future yearned for present even though it was aware of the reality. That's how humans work. Feelings get in the way of rationality and that messes up the entire functioning. Future continued to stay not giving the alone space Present wanted so badly. Future accidently and purposefully ignored how suffocating its presence was for Present, hoping someday that present will finally realize its value. 

Yet a voice note followed by 45 minutes of descend into chaos and a call changed everything for the Future. Only when future saw that it actually hurted itself, it understood that this is it. All of this should stop. And the story does stop. There are still ink stains of anger and confusion and sadness and betrayal remaining in Future's mind. But love taught Future something. Something that might turn out useful. Sometime in the FUTURE.
