The Dark Side
The Dark Side
At Irelph President office:
"Let us resolve to reform our politics so that power and privilege no longer shout down the voice of the people", I began to address the audience at the press meet. The words meant more to me.
********
"On behalf of our nation and the world, our last best hope in an age where the instruments of war have far outspaced the instruments of peace. Is it not the need of the hour to have our country best at military forces?". The agreement to my statement echoed in unison and the public cheered and invited me as their President.
The claps faded away as my dark side swelled up from inside with agony and pain. The hatred against the authorities deepened with the unquestionable power crowned on my head.
"Moderation is a crime that requires an accomplice".
I could remember that mundane day, the red blood that drizzled from their wounds, the silence that lay aftermath. The septic smell of dead bodies still stenches me. The torsos that were left behind in irregular fashion. My nerveless hands that wanted to punch the enemies and the denial that followed made me what I am today.
We were taken to concentration camps. The inmates were used as supplementary labour supply and we were required to work for our wages in food. Those who were unable to work died of starvation and those who did not starve died of overwork.
New surgical techniques were tried upon us and this resulted in deaths due to artificially induced diseases. We were caned recklessly for speaking our native language. We were caned for speaking with fellowmates, questioning the authorities, failure to clean the lavatories upto their satisfaction. Caning is accompanied with slapping, verbal abuse and other forms of violence. For girls, sexual abuse was a part of their daily routine.
The pain we underwent were of inoceanable depths. The fear with which we prayed every year that our birthdays never turn up. The authorities had your fingers severed on every birthday as a surprise present.
After the world economic forum and other treaties were signed the authorities had released the hostages. I was one among the survivors and I was glad to be alive though I am sick.
I became the revolutionary leader of my motherland through struggles and hardships. Now my country is far better in its economy and as well in terms of military capabilities. The aerial attack on Krefeld and counter attack on IS terror groups were globally appreciated.
Now in my deathbed, I am satisfied as a true patriot.
