The curse

Hi I am Lucifer Van Heusen,and I am a Vampire. I am not just any Vampire, I am the next heir to the throne that controls all the vampire communities . My identity was kept hidden from me. I went to a normal school and had a normal life till I was eighteen. When I found out who I was i was, taken aback with a huge shock. I never really believed in fantasy ,most if us don't but that does not mean that it does not exist . We all have seen activities we cannot express or rather we don't because we dont WANT to believe in fantasy or something supernatural and paranormal. So was I , I had my whole life planned out. I wanted to be a herbalist. I had immense knowledge in herbs and medicine. I even wanted to write books on herbology . This was my dream, until suddenly I came to know that I was a blood-thirsty monster and had to be the next one to take over the throne. The Vampires of the past generation with the help of some powerful wizards had created an alternate dimension for all the Vampires to reside safely,away from any humans.You might be wondering why Vampires need to hide from humans,shouldn't humans be the one to hide from Vampires? Well yes,but with the growing technology in the human world ,it was only a matter of time when the scientists started experimenting on Vampires. However there was one condition if we wanted another world for us- if there were an alternate dimension then werewolves and vampires had to co-exist there. As you all know Vampires and Werewolves are disgusted by each other, It was really hard for us to live together. Then my grandfather and the Alpha of the werewolves at that time signed a treaty and created a magical barrier. We were not allowed to cross the barrier until there was a case of grave emergency. We were also bound to cross the barrier if someone of high rank or someone very respectable had died. We kept a formal relationship and did not interfere with each others affairs.

Hey there! I am Mariel Adams and I am the daughter of the Alpha of our Werewolf pack. Although I am a werewolf I know that I am different from others. From my childhood I went to a normal school and my dad even hid it from me that he was werewolf. My mom is a human so I pretty much grew up with her. Dad would visit us at rare times. Last year during the night of the full moon I transformed completely. Normally werewolves transform everynight but in the nights of full moon the transformation is just too powerful. That night I had unleashed my true power. When I came back to my senses in the morning I found that our house was completely dilapidated. My dad was there and my mom was looking at me as if she'd just seen a ghost. I found out who I was and what I had done the previous night. I was really sad as we had to move to the dimension created for werewolves. I had to leave my mortal friends and everything that was attached to me for the past seventeen years . Although I was a bit excited I was also scared. I always kept thinking what would happen if I could not fit in with the others. Moreover I was the only werewolf in our pack without a mate. So some wolves tried to avoid me. And again some tried to be friendly with me just because I was the only daughter of the Alpha.

A month after I took over the throne , a request to let a werewolf pass the barrier came from our headquarters saying he was a Delta wolf with a message from the new Alpha. I let him pass . He entered my office when I was doing a few paperwork. On speaking to him I got to know that a few rogue werewolves had ambushed on the Alpha and killed him. Many salutary wolves tried to save him. But his injuries were too many and some even damaged his organs. I and some of my friends were invited to join the Werewolves in the funeral of the Alpha. I kept wondering....never had an Alpha invited vampires to join them in any occassion. I was curious to know who the present Alpha was. In a speculating manner I asked the Delta wolf who their present Alpha was. He said he was not allowed to say that and that I should see the Alpha on my own during my visit.

**After 2 days **

It was my first time crossing the barrier. I was not even fully adjusted to my vampire kingdom yet , so I was really nervous. So were all of my friends . We were bound to be nervous , we were entering a territory of vicious creatures of great vigour. As we entered their territory I could hear whispers all around. I understood not many of them were happy to see us. We were sent to their main castle to meet the new Alpha. We sitted ourselves and waited for the Alpha. I thought that the Alpha would be a strong wolf who would would even throw a couple of insults at us. Two Beta wolves came in and informes us that the Alpha was about to enter . The Alpha entered and we stood up . As SHE entered I was.....dumbstruck. The Alpha was a beautiful girl . She had shiny white hair,her eyes were yellow...they were glowing like yellow colored diamonds!!! I was mesmerised by her beauty. She had a fierce look on her face but I could see a soft side of her. I didn't even realised that I had been staring for a long time then.

"Please do sit,and thank you for coming. " -she said in a soft and low voice. I could understand her grief for her dad.

"It's my pleasure,thank you." I said still amused by her beauty and elegance. Even though, she had a hint of badass in her eyes that would probably stop anyone from messing with her .To think a werewolf would be such a .........

My dad had once banished a group of unloyal wolves as they had been leaking information on our pack to the others. A few days earlier , these rogue wolves had ambushed on my dad and killed him. Many of our best healers tried but could not improve his condition. After dad passed away my mom was grief-stricken. She did not eat for days. Finally I consoled and helped her back to her normal self. Eventually the time for my father's funeral came. I wanted to keep a good relationship with the Vampires so I invited the royal Vampire and some of his friends to this sad occassion . I did not believe that he would come. I sincerely thought that he would ignore my invitation. But he came, He sure is something! When I saw him I realised that he was nothing like I imagined him to be. He was completely different with his faded blonde hair and glowing yellow eyes just like mine! Maybe he was also shocked to see a girl as the Alpha too! Because he kept staring at me for a while. I didn't realise but I was also k staring at him . After a long chat I found out that there wasn't much difference between us. He too went to a normal school before realising who he was! I felt like an outsider when I was with my pack . But I felt like I could share anything with this vampire . After talking for a while, we started the ceremony.

After the ceremony was over, I called out to the vampire said my name and asked him his.

"Um.....hi.... I am Lucifer"-he said.

I gave out a soft smile and said him that he will always be welcome in our territory. I could here a few gasps from behind,even Lucifer looked quite shocked .

"Uh......Okay! Um....You too"-saying this he smiled at me . The sun was setting and now our territory was not safe. "Thank you for coming...its getting dark , you should get back"-I told him

He agreed and headed back. THIS was our first encounter. I wanted to talk more with him but unfortunately maybe it even would be the last time we met.

The next day I and some of the close members of the pack crossed the barrier and went on to the other side. To be honest I was a bit scared....ok! A lot scared cuz we were entering the Vampire Kingdom. Their were two guards waiting for us at the entrance. They led us to the Vampire palace. It was nothing like I imagined it to bee. I thought it would be a really creepy looking place. Well,it was a little creepy but that's not big a deal. The only lack that they had was of sunlight. I understood that they may even die if a little amount of light falls on them but we were so used to sunlight that this place looked a tad bit dull.

The guards took us to their main hall where I saw many Vampires holding a glass of wine(Thank God...I thought that was blood!!!). I could not see Lucifer . After a few minutes,a few soldiers came and informed us that Lucifer was yet to arrive. Lucifer entered the hall in a royal coat. He adressed us ,the werewolves and thanked us for saving him and his friends out there. He held out his arm and gave a toast for us.

Then he came towards me and thanked me for coming. I flashed a big smile. A couple minutes later,Lucifer asked me to come with him...he said that he wanted to show me something. Although he was a Vampire ,I did not feel scared or nervous around him. I even felt more comfortable than I do with my pack. I followed him. And then we reaches a balcony...it was decorated with fresh flowers and plants. There was also a beautiful swing at the corner. I looked up at the sky and saw beautiful stars.....wait....stars??...when we came it was day ...then how di-?

As I was thinking Lucifer said-"You might be wondering hiw it's night now. The sky in our kingdom is charmed to look light a night sky. You know we hate sunlight right? That's why it was charmed in the first place. But sometimes I do miss the sun."

I nodded and gazed at the stars. Lucifer offered me to sit in the swing. We both sat there. We kept gazing at the stars and kept chatting for a long time. It felt so.....comforting?? I don't know...but whatever I felt...it was good!

It felt like we were lost in a different world....until one of Lucifer's soldiers came in and told us thar some Rogues had entered the Vampire Kingdom forcefully and was hurting eveyone terribly.

"What???"-I shouted in shock

Lucifer and I hurried to the place of the attack. I took my wolves with me. We saw at least eight Rogues howling loudly and leaping onto Vampires and killing them instantly. I was completely enraged. This time I could not control myself. I transformed and this time I was more furious than ever.

I punch one of the Rogues and killed it right then. I howled and started attacking the ither ones. Within a few minutes all of them were dead.

But I was still furious, I tried but I just could not transform myself back to my human-self . After a while, I concentrated and tried to channel my powers to turn into my human-self. I opened my eyes and I was back. But that did not help it. The Vampires around me were more scared of me than they were of the Rogues. I was surrounded by dead Vampires that were killed by the Rogues. The place was silent. No one even spoke a word...maybe they were afraid. My white dress was covered with blood. It was also a bit ragged . Then suddenly a few vampires shifted and allowed someone to come upfront. She was wearing a black gown and also wore a read cape. Her fangs were sharp. And she had a humongous crown on her head.

She came up to me and sneered her fangs at me. I got nervous and kind of scared too. I could sense a huge amount of power from that lady.

"Well..well...what do we have here? Looks to me a filthy werewolf eh!"- she said giving a scornful smile. One of my wolves got excited and was ready to fight her bit I stopped him. I knew better than anyone that it would be a dangerous job.

"I don't blame these creatures . I blame you Lucifer yo-"-she was about to complete but I stopped her" We're sorry for the ruckus don't blame him"

"Looks like you made quite a brave friend eh Lucifer. My own people are afraid to speak up to me and this foul werewolf dares to interupt me ....while I talk with my own son."-she said raising her voice a little.

I got chills, I never even imagined this rude lady here would be the mother of Lucifer who was so kind and accepting of us.

"Son, I blame you for the death of your people. No one other than you are to be blamed . If you would have ignored the invitation by that pest then today these innocent people would be ALIVE!!!!"- she said looking at Lucifer. He was quiet and his head was hung low.

"Let me tell you one thing you pest!"- she turned towards me"When our ancestors put up a barrier , they put some thought to it, vanpires and werewolves are disgusted by each other. However we may need each other's help once a bazillion years...maybe...that is why the option for letting the barrier up was there. It wasn't there for vampires and werewolves to invite each other and have fun. I am to never see you or the other insects of your species EVER AGAIN!! If I do see well I'll kill them and you won't even be ablw to say something because what those werewolves did to our people are unforgivable. Although I am forgiving you right now but no Vampire should ever see the face of another werewolf EVER AGAIN....Am I clear??"- she asked.

"Crystal."- I reply.

I give one last sad glance at Lucifer. I felt like crying. I felt more comfortable with him than I did witg any other werewolf and after today I can never see his face ever again. I could tell that he was also sad by his expression. I smiled at him one last time even though it broke my heart into pieces. Maybe I thought of him as too close a friend and now that I know I won'tbe able to see him again, my heart hurts.

It has been almost a week since that incident. I haven't eaten properly these days and I often fall ill. My pack is really worried about me. I know that...but I've lost my appetite. All I think about these days us how we were humiliated by that vampire lady and whenever I think of that I also remember that I can't see Lucifer anymore.

He was just a friend....right? Then why do I feel like I am broken without him. His smiling face pops up in my head once a while and that makes me cry...why? I don't know why?.....maybe.....do..I..have..f-f-feel-lings .....for him?..... but it feels so sad and gloomy. Its seems as if my world has lost its colour.

Atlast I took a decision. I decided to go back to the human world and stay there. I would be distracted out there and I won't even have time to think of all these heartbreaking thoughts. I wrote a letter to my pack before leaving saying that I am not gonna be the Alpha anymore and that the most powerful Beta should take my place. And then I dissolved into the mortal world....I miss you...Lucifer.

Almost after a week of that incident, my mom came running into my room. She said that she knew how to get rid of the werewolves. I knew that she noticed I wasn't eating well and always thinking of.....Marial...but that didn't mean that she had to "get rid of them".

"Mom.....I do not want to get rid of them....they have the right to live as much as we do"-I said

"Ah! So now you are also talking back to me.....I can see how bad of an influence those pests were especially that girl...."- she said with a scrawny look on her face.

My mind was debating...whether I should finally stand up for me and them or to just shut up and do as she says........ when my mom called in someone ....he wore a long black coat. He had clear blue eyes and brown curly hair.

" This is Mr. Clover and he is a powerful wizard....he will help us in dissolving the werewolves...therel'l be no werewolves ever"

I was completely flabbergasted....she wanted to kill all the werewolves.... but..then....Marial would..........I know she is just an acquaintance but it's feels so gloomy out here whenever she is not around . It's like my heart has turned into a cold dreary chamber.

"NO MOM!!! I won't let you do that and if you still want to do it then you are more than welcome....you know what.....why don't you be the queen and rule over this Vampire kingdom....I wil do what I wanted to do....I wanted to become a herbologist and settle in the human world and well that's what I am going to do now..."- as I said this my mom went out and shut the door behind her. I finally gained the courage and now I'll do what I really wanted to do. We had two chambers from where we could go to the human world. One for the Vampires and one for the werewolves. I felt nostalgic seeing the chamber and I remembered when I first came here or when I first found out who I really was!

I went in the chamber and vanished. Then there I was in a chamber in the human world that was only visible to werewolves and Vampires..

I got out of the chamber and went to my previous university. Surprisingly due to my good grades I got a huge scholarship from the university. That was really a relief because I did not have much money on myself.

I had enough for a year and after a year I was going graduate and get a job so that wouldn't be a problem.

I loved art and I was also really good at it. So after coming to the human world...i went to an art workshop where they liked my paintings so much that I soon got many huge business offers. I was really happy. My life was set. I did not had to worry about my pack and nor......Lucifer.

//Lucifer//

It's been two years since I came to the mortal world. I haven't heard anything from the Vampire world since I came here. I got a job as an herbology teacher in a nearby university. I was really happy with my life out here. Well...somtimes I did have cravings for blood but I would shake that feeling off. Today the art dept. of our university will be having a field trip to an art museum where exclusive paintings by a really famous artist- M.Adams were being showcased. I was asked to take them on the tour because their art teacher was out with a cold and they couldn't cancel the tour as they had already invested a lot. There would be a tour guide so there couldn't be any sort of trouble. We got up the bus and headed for the museum. Suddenly the students started whispering and it sounded like a bunch of bees making a buzzzz sound. I asked a nearby student what was so interesting. She answered that the the famous artist whose painting we were headed to see would be present in the museum we were going to. I wasn't a really big fan of art but I didn't know why but I felt really willing to meet this artist.

It was a bright Sunny Monday and I visited one of my art museums. I knew students from a closeby university was coming for a tour so I decided to be their tour guide. I loved explaining my paintings. Most of them reminded me of my pack and ...um...Lucifer. It wasn't like I always wanted to be the tour guide for a normal field trip but it kind of felt like I'd miss something wonderful in my life if I didn't go there.

The bus finally stopped. I felt a tinge of excitement although I was completely anaware of the reason.

After all the students got down of the bus we were headed towards the entrance of the art museum. A staff with a black tee and cap came towards us and told us that she was assigned to be our tour guide but the artist herself wanted to be their tour guide so we needed to wait a bit. I could hear squeals of excited students from afar . We were waiting when a girl maybe the same age as mine came out of the museum. She had sparkling white hair and golden eyes that resembled the rare yellow coloured diamonds. She reminded me of...........Marial. Is it really her???

As I got out of the museum I found all the students outside . I was so happy to see that I was appreciated by so many. Beside them stood a man.......maybe near my age. I guessed he was the teacher. He had sparkling yellow eyes just like mine and faded blonde hair . He looked like......Lucifer. Wait ....is it him...????

//Marial//

I moved forward towards the huge group of students. Some shook my hand. Some clicked my pictures and some wanted my signature. However all my mind thought was- Lucifer.......Lucifer.......Lucifer.

After all the students had calmed down. I went towards the man,held out my hand and said-"Hello! I am the artist.... My name is Marial Adams."

As that lady said her name was Marial, my whole world started to spin . I was unwilling to believe that it was her....but I knew it..those eyes that sparkling hair and that kind and calm nature. That had to be her.

I took at least a minute before I answered hrr back-"oh!....um....hello! I am Lucifer Van Heusen. I am actually the herbology teacher but the art teacher was out sick so I covered for him." - I said as I saw the colour of her face fade away.

He was Lucifer!!!! I didn't know how I should react. Happy? Sad? Excited?Scared?

Instead I acted as if I did not know him. I didn't want to create a fuss especially in front of all those humans.

After the tour everyone was taken to the museum canteen. The students crowded the hot dog station and some went off to the bubble tea corner. I took two cups of coffee and offered one to Lucifer. We were alone in a corner so I thought it would be the right time to talk to him. "When did you come here Lucifer?"-I asked.

//Lucifer//

As Marial asked me that I understood that she was the same Marial from before. I missed her so much I wanted to.....nevermind.....I....um....don't really know how I feel towards her. I like her but I am not sure that it is only as a friend but I was afraid...a lot....she was a werewolf and I was a vampire. Nothing could happen between us. I then realised she was waiting for me to answer. - "I .....um....two years ago"- I said. " Don't you remember me Lucifer "-she asked . I could see that she felt offended." No ...i mean of course I do ..... I am just a bit surprised that's all"- i said.

"I see......so i see you are completely settled here.....well it's the same for me too.. i am afraid....to face anyone from our world now"-she said.

"I missed you a lot....i don't know why we just knew each other for a short span of time but something about you is different.....I think....I am in.....*Ahem* um sorry."- i blurted out.

She giggled a bit. I was so happy to see her smile again.

We then exchanged our phone numbers qnd agreed to stay in touch with each other.

*The next day*

Marial: Hey are you free today?? Can we meet up??

Lucifer:Sure. Where should we meet up?

Marial: Do you know that really good cafe that just opened in the 26th avenue?

Lucifer:Yeah!! So should we meet up there?

Marial: Yah! I'll be waiting for you at 6:00pm

Lucifer: Sure. Bye👋

Marial: Bye👋

Its been one year since the say I and Marial met. We've gotten surprisingly closer, but I still did not say her how I feel about her. I just thought that maybe I should wait. I don't want to weird out our friendship. We meet up almost everyday. She is the closest thing I have to family.

**Present time**

Suddenly I got a call from Marial. She said that she was coming over and she also asked me about some sort of parcel. I didn't quite get it so I told her to tell me everything when she gets here.

I heard the doorbell ring and as I opened the door I fpund Marial huffing like crazy. Seemed like she ran all the way here. She came in and I offered her some water. Just as she was about to say something the doorbell rang again . I opened the door and found a mailman standing. He wore a red cap which prevented me from seeing his face . Without saying anything he just stretched out his hands and gave me parcel. I looked at the parcel confusedly and just as I was going to ask him who it was from, I found that he was.....not...there.

I took the parcel and came in. Marial looked at me expectentlu and then at the parcel. She gave out a sigh and said

"I know what's in there. I got a parcel today morning too! It contains a letter. It says that ....um.....your mom is no more......" she paused for a moment and then continued

"And it also says that we need to go there as soon as possible. After your mom died, Werewolves and Vampires have been turning rogue and killinh anyone in front of them irrespective of what they are. Some of my healers said that it's a curse. The curse befalled on them because I the Alpha and You the Next Heir were not there for a very long time. Moreover the killed people again come back to life but turn rogue."

I could not process what Marial was just saying but what I did understand was that we needed to go to that dimension and that also as soon as possible.

Marial and I went into the chamber in tge human world and then suddenly we opened our eyes and we were back at the chamber in OUR dimension. I still remember all the memories from 3 years back....but this was not the time to be reminiscing . We had the duty to protect our people no matter what. Marial and I went to my palace and asked my best Vampire troop to escort all the safe Werewolves amd Vampires into the palace. After everyone safe was here Marial and I both announced that if we wanted this curse to be lifted we needed to work together....as in Vampires and Werewolves need to co-operate and help each other. I could see that many of them were reluctant to do so but now we had no choice. An old healer from Marial's pack suggested that we should visit the Oracle to know how we could lift this curse. He said the Oracle was kept in a small broken down hut just at the border. We quickly left for the Oracle. The outside scenery was so vulgar. I could see blood stains almost everywhere. I saw one of the rogue vampires killed another vampures by literally eating him up, and then after a while the vulnerable vampire's body would reform and he would too turn rogue. The site was disturbing. Finally somehow we reached the "Oracle's hut". We went in but found no one. We decide to speak."Anybody there?? We want to know how to lift the curse"- Marial said. Suddenly we heard a voice it said

The Heir and the Alpha leaves

The Curse of Law falls

To lift this curse you must

Find two gems;

One of black and a carved out bat

One of grey and a carved out wolf

Put them together

where the first sunshine falls

The curse gets lifted but

To find these gems you must

Go to the FOREST OF THE DEAD

Survive there and lift the curse Die there and there'll be no one left

A shiver went through my spine as the echo of the words spoken by the Oracle subsided. The hut was again silent. I looked like no one had entered it in years-filled with cob-webs, dust over all furnitures, a few broken chairs and pieces of glasses. Lucifer and I headed out soon after we got the information by the Oracle. However none of us was able to process what the Oracle meant by those words. All we understood was that we had to go to THE FOREST OF THE DEAD - we did not even know what it was!!!

All of my noble vampires , Marial , her wolves and I were seated around a table with our thinking faces on! None of us knew where the Forest of The Dead was! We searched almost all the books in the royal library....but no such luck!

Suddenly Marial snapped her fingers and her face lit up she took my hand and dragged me out of the library.

"I think I may know someone....someone who can guide us and give us mire information on this."- Marial said as we walked by. All of the werewolves were now in our palace. She took me to their section. She told one of her Betas that she wanted to talk to "The Elder".

We were taken to a small corner of a room where I saw an old werewolf with semi- round glasses resting over his sharp nose. He fixed his glasses and looked at us. He was writing something in a huge book. He continued to do so. After a while he looked up at us again and asked "What brings you here Marial?"

"Sir, we would like to know about The Forest Of The Dead."- said Marial.

The old man got up from his chair and walked us to the library. I wanted to tell him that there was nothing there and that I had already searched the library to save him the trouble but as I was going to tell him- he took us to a corner of the library and with his sharp nails traced something written on the wall . As he did that we heard a rumbling sound and the wall was wide open in no time. I assumed now that this man was the Elder- Marial was talking about. He entered the other side of the wall followed by Marial and Me. Inside there were loads and loads of books and sacks of gems and stones. I found a sign sayings "Restricted Section " in the entrace. I was shocked to see that I never even knew about this place when it was our palace.

The Elder went forward took a book with golden binding kept on a table. It looked old but taken care of. He slowly turned the pages and kept the book down for us the see. The page had the heading "The Forest of The Dead"

Marial bowed saying a Thank you and so did I . Without saying anything he went back to the room he came from.

"He doesn't like to talk much...but he's very knowledgeable "- Marial said.

"Thought so"- I replied.

"Now let's look at the info inside the book...maybe it can help us with this proble-"- As Marial was about to finished her sentence so me of her wolves and my troops came to us and informed that some of the rogue vampires and werewolves had entered the palace and they were going out of control.

"I'll take care of it .....you look into the book"- said Marial as she transformed into her werewolf form.

//Marial//

My wolves guided me to the place where the Rogues had attacked. I, in my transformed form was now surrounded by weird looking, blood-covered vampires and werewolves. We were all causious because once you let your guard down, you will BE one of them. A vampire charged towards me snarling, showing his fangs which were now dripping with blood . I too charged towards him and with my sharp claws I cut a deep wound in him. Just then I heard Lucifer screaming at me "Marial dont let their blood touch you...it'll burn you". He was right the blood from the vampire that was now covering the ground almost eroded the whole ground and the small plants around it withered in an instant.

"Attack on their heads...try to make them unconscious "- Lucifer said.

Well that was really hard to do due to my long sharp claws. I tried my best and also advised the same to all of the ones fighting with me. Soon we were surrounded by nothing but unconscious Rogues fallen on the ground. Lucifer asked us throw the bodies outside the palace.

After all of that was taken care of and I was back to my human form, Lucifer dragged me up to the library again and started reading out passages from the book that The Elder had shown us.

"If both The Alpha of the werewolves and the Head of the Vampire kingdom are missing from this world for more than two years, The curse of the Law befalls on tge poor people of this world. This curse changes them into blood-thisty creatures and they loose a sense of mind. And they can multiply really fast as whoever's blood they suck turns into one of them in no time. If nothing is done , soon all of the people are to turn into those creatures and in turn kill each other. "- he gave out a sigh...looked up at me and said"That's what is happening now!!"

His face bespoke worry and fear. He was easy to read.

He continued-"To lift the curse The Alpha and the Head both, together must visit the forest of the dead. When a werewolf dies , It's soul awaits for the soul of a Vampire and then these two souls are fused together to make the soul powerful enough to persist in the Forest of the Dead. Although powerful werewolves and royal vampires' soul does not fuse together as they are powerful enough. The fused up souls are called-' TIMOR SOULS' One will encounter these souls in this forest . They have no memory of who they were and they attack whoever enters the forest. They do so to protect the 'GEMINAE CRYSTALLINI' these are the twin gems or the twin diamonds. One is of grey appearance with a wolf face carved out and one of black appearance and a bat engraved. These have the power to lift the Curse Of Law and if found in wrong hands these have enough power to destroy this whole dimension. The stones are protected . You must go through two stages to prove that you have what it takes to be the owner of the 'GEMINAE CRYSTALLINI' . First you must prove your strength against The Dragon Soul protecting the gems . Second you need to prove your wit against the souls of the first ever werewolf and first vampire to live . Finally achieve the gems and make them come in contact at the point where the first sunshine falls and The Curse will be lifted"

He stopped after that. His face became flushed and his eyes filled with horror. He slowly took out a small envelope tucked in a corner of the book ....it read :-

He looked at the words for at least a minute with a bewildered expression on his face. The book fell from his hands. I could see the name of the author now as the cover was a bit torned out. I saw the nane of the author and was as shocked as Lucifer but I was shocked for some other reason , most likely something that would help us even more for this quest.

//Marial//

Lucifer was still in a trance. I quickly picked up the delicate book and ran my eyes through the author's name atleast nine times. It was as if I didn't want to believe it . "Um...you okay?!"- i asked Lucifer aftet a while.

"Huh!...oh yeah i ....um yeah i am"- he said stuttering and mixing up his words half time he was speaking. I slowly showed him the name of the author of the book.

He was reluctant to understand. And then I told him that the Author of the book was THE ELDOR who just showed us the way here.

" T-Then he'll know about this envelope wont he!!"- he exclaimed with a happy-sad expression on his face. We rapidly walked towards the Eldor's room. After enteringwe went straight to him and started asking questions. The others were anaware of the ORACLE and THE FOREST so they looked at us as if we've had gone mad. Mr. Alam who was the author and The Eldor stood up and led us towards the library again.

He quietly entered the restricted section and cleared his throat.

"Oh...it's gonna be a long day today "- I said as I knew that Mr. Alam never spoke but when he did talk he did it NOT STOP.

After a long period of silence he finally started to speak in his formal British accent "See Mr.Lucifer...um... The one you knew as your mum, Grace was actually your aunt."- he said it so simply as if it didn't even matter. Lucifer on the contrary continued to look at Mr.Alam with his confused but firm gaze. I could suddenly see tears in the corner of his eyes.

"See when in the mid twentieth century The Vampires and the Werewolves had an argument they couldn't resolve...they simply started ignoring each other in all possile ways. Every hundredth year the head of the Vampire kingdom and The Alpha of the Werwolves had to celebrate a traditional festival in order to keep things mutual and formal between them. Lucifer's and Miss Marial's parents intended NOT to do so as they couldn't resolve their differences. Well Marial's dad mainly played the role but both of Mr.Lucifer's parents were involved " - he stopped and sighed. He pinched his nose as if to show that what followed was not going to be a good one. Now I saw tears rolling down Lucifer's flushed cheeks. Seeimg him vulberable made me think of my dad when he often used to look that way. I found the urge to cry and now we were both crying. Mr.Alam continued "Mr.Lucifer's parents died as they broke a millennium old tradition. Some even say they were cursed. Marial's mom was a human so that did not affect her existence. But Lucifer's uncle died as well while he was trying to save his parents. Miss Emma or as I'd like to call her Lucifer's real mom did not want Lucifer to know anything. As I knew a solution to break this curse I was able to save Marial's dad but just as we went to save Mrs.Emma and Mr.Will ....It was too late for us to change anything. "- I looked at Lucifer. He looked in so much pain...I kind of knew how he felt. He was lued his entire life not just in the human world during his childhood but also in this world ..even when he was the Head!!!

I walked up to Mr.Alam and told him that I would take Lucifer away and that we needed to know more about tge FOREST later. I looked back at Lucifer, who now held his face in his hands, his head hung down. I got to him- "Are you okay?"- NO RESPONSE......I asked again.....NO RESPONSE..... I finally heard him sniff a little and I found that he was still crying. I felt awful...my dad got saved that day but his parents didn't. I hoped he didn't hold a grudge against ME. I just plopled on my chair and looked at him . I tried to comfort him but that didn't work. Finally he hugged me all of a sudden. I was a bit shocked and was reluctant to hug back at first but then I hugged him back. He was the one whom it felt great to be around. An outsider in the pack but a great friend of his- I was this. I didn't even care that he was a Vampire or what not . I just wanted to embrace him and this moment he was my friend and I loved him........i felt a bit embarrassed even thinking that...but couldn't figure out why. His grip tightened and he burst out into tears. When I saw him cry ...It was like all of my worst moments in my life just happened right now. I was broken too. We both were the same. I did not care what he is ..... I care who he is and I love that about him. Eventually, I burst into tears too and we sat their in our chairs hugging tight and crying our hearts out. I think somehow we both comforted each other and also were able to be comforted by each other. This was a moment I would cherrish for my whole life.

It was the next day. Marial and I were in no position to listen to The Eldor after knowing that our entire lives WAS NOTHING BUT A LIE.

It was a Monday and we were supposed to meet in the library's restricted section within an hour. I heard a sudden knock on the door.

"Um..hey Lucifer can I come in?"- I heard Marial say.

I went and opened the door. She was wearing what looked like the same white dress she wore when we first met. Her sparkling white hair was tied up into a messy bun . I started thinking of the day when we met...our conversations.....our tragedies....our happiness.....and then we left each other.....we again met each other and now we both neede to fight together for all of our people.

"Um...Are you there!!!"-Marial said swaying her right hand in front of my eyes. I realised than I blanked out thinking about everything.....everything that happened AFTER Marial came into my life.

"So..how do feel..now that we will finally know what we need to do for this world to go back to how it was."- just as Marial said that one of her Delta wolves burst into the room-"I am really sorry fir breaking in but its an emergency!! The Eldor ....he...he..he .....um....he is dying!!!!"- the wolf stated.

Marial and I were dumbstruck.

We rushed towards where the wolf led us. We saw the Eldor lying on his bed , surrounded by several Salutary wolves*. He looked pale. His limbs were thin.

Marial went towards him and started talking to the Salutaries. After a while she came to me and said that there was no way to save him. He had already lived over a century and a half.

The Eldor then called us to him. Everyone was asked to live. It was just Marial,me and The Eldor.

"I am really sorry this happened to me. But there are some things that you just need to do on your own...."- he said with a weak voice but still maintaining his accent.

"Library has another restricted section...find it..on your own....and find the portal to the Forest. And them find your way through the forest and retrieve the gems. "- he said and took his final breath. Marial closed his eyes. She stood up .....she tried to act strong but I could see that she was scared and sad in her eyes. She ordered her wolves to decorate a beautiful tomb for The Eldor and everybody got into preparations. While that was going on ...Marial looked towards me and said-"Let's find this portal while the others are busy"- she took my hand and then again we wer in that same place. She started searching for books and touching and moving things. I told her to go outside so that I could use my super speed and find it. After a long search neither of us were succesful. She then looked at a portrait that was hung a litter higher in the wall.

"Who's this?"- she asked

"That's the first Vampire, Lucifer...his name was same as mine"- I said.

"Could you give me a hand?"- she asked to which I nodded...and I swear I saw her smirk a bit. I held her waist tightly and helped her up so that she could take the portrait out. As soon as she did that we saw a door ...a small one ..behind the portrait. Marial touched it and it gave out a sudden blinding glow.

When we opened our eyes we were not in the same place. We were in another part of the library...seemed so......Marial got up and helped me up . We kept close distance between each other . We could see a eerie puple light coming from the corner of the library. We went close and as we did that I felt a little tug on my chest. I could see Marial felt a little uncomfortable too!

We went nearer and nearer and then we saw what it was.

It was a round structure that had no specific physical state. This gave out a purple light.

"Lucifer.. .......we've found the portal!!!!"- Marial said with excitement. And then we both touched the portal and we were no longer in the library!

I opened my eyes slowly. They felt heavy and then they fell upon Marial who was laying right beside me. I had to shake her a lot before she finally woke up. We looked at each other and then finally realised our surroundings.

We were in a beautiful meadow. The trees and grasses gave out a orangish colour because of the sun's light. It was sunset. And the sky was painted in a beautiful colour. It was purple -pink-orange colour which made it so soothing to look at it. There was a slight breeze which was growing stronger. From the corner of my eye I saw Marial's hair undo...it fluttered in the wind like a picturesque flag. She stood up and tied it into a high bun. I was still mesmerised by the beauty of this place.

Finally I snapped amd remembered our 'mission'. I stood up and looked confusedly at Marial. Then we heard a giggle from our behind. We rapidly turned back to see a little girl-she looked like eight, had brown hair braided on both sides, she had dark green eyes which shone red from time to time. She giggled again-"Hi!! I am Eva . "- she said with a big grin on her face. "And I am the youngest soul out here!! Are you guys new here? What kind of souls are you?"- she kept asking with her eyes gaping towards us.

"No we aren't so-"before Marial could said anything I stopped her amd said"Um..we are new here could you tell us what we need to do next... we wanted to view the GEMINNAE CRYSTALLINI.."

The girl's smile faded...she looked more carefully towards us and said-"Well first you need to be allowed by the queen and the king so.."

"Where will we find them?"- Marial asked hastily.

"It will be difficult...you need to pass more three parts of this portal. This part is called 'Gloriopolis'....I never left this place as I am to watch out for intruders.... I don'tknow what the other protectors are going to be like... but I can tell each part will have a protector and you need to pass through three parts ...then you need to defeat OHEN-VARTÁ he is the fire dragon.....well souls dont need to defeat anyone since they BELONG here...but mortals need to"- she said and smirked.

I looked at Marial and she did the same.

We then went towards where Eva directed us .

We found another portal out there and again with a blinding light we were no longer in 'Gloriopolis'

//Marial//

I woke up and found that Lucifer was already awake beside me. The floor was hard, made up of...what looked like Crystals. It was night time and the moon wasn't in view. There were so many constellations, It was hard to recognize them. Their were thousands of stars glittering in the magnificent night sky. "Every place had its own beauty"-I heard a voice say. We looked up and found a girl...older than Eva, she looked almost like her . She wore the same sad look although she was smiling. Her brown hair tied into a high braid and her eyes similar to Eva.

"Hello! I am Eva"- she said. Before she could continue Lucifer interrupted her-"Um...how are you Eva we just met her?"

I looked at him with a 'don't tell everyone evrything' look , he shrunk down. I tried so hard not to laugh at that moment. We then looked up at the girl who just called herself Eva.

"Yeah so..... that was my younger self, and the place after this is protected by my adult self. Younger Eva doesn't know this so.... you should too refrain from telling her!"-she said .

We now SOMEWHAT understood what she meant. We looked around the place . It was as Isolated as Gloriopolis and then it struck me that this place should have a name too right?

"What's the name of this place?"-I asked.

"This is Timorasia... where all timor souls reside. You cant see them unless they want you to see them. I wanted you to see me...that's why I LET you see me.."- she said with a serious look on her face .

"So I guess you are looking for OHEN-VARTÁ, listen you cant just kill it will your claws or fangs...you need something else...my adult self knows what you need but......you need to trick her out of it"

"That sounds like fun"-Lucifer said and this time I literally facepalmed myself!

"Go to the west .....you dont need a portal to the next place....just go to thebwest and you'll find your surroundings changing...that's when you know you are there"-Eva or whoever she was said and then disappeared.

I looked at Lucifer and then we both set off to the west side.

//Marial//

We kept on walking just as we were told to. We found the crytalline ground morphing into a grassy one. The sky was in the colour of a purple , mysterious one and the surroundings were merged to one another.

It was a forest filled with huge trees. The place was painted purple by the light iluminating from the sky.

We heard something from a distance... Sounded like the roar of the so-called Ohen-Vartá . I gave a cautious look to Lucifer and just then we heard a voice. We looked around and spotted a woman, we realised that it was Eva...The one that the previous Eva warned us about.

Her eyes glistening and her hair fluttering in the wind, she looked fierce.

"I believe you are here to defeat my Ohen"- she said. I was kind of shocked when she said "My" Ohen.

She seemed to have read my thoughts "She's my pet"- she said looking straight in my eye.

"You can't defeat her with a normal sword!"

She said again now making contact with Lucifer's eyes.

"We know"-I said, she raised a brow.

"How did you- ...nevermind...but I doubt that you'll know where and with what you can defeat her"

Flashback

Timorasia Eva:" I am really restless when I grow up, just act as if you know the answer and she herself will blurt out the answer unconsciously"

"We know that too!"- I said as Lucifer gave me a funny look.

"You know about the celestial gold sword! You don't know where to find it do you??!" She said with a worried expression on her face.

"We do"- I said with a smug look on my face.

I heard her gasp and sprint towards her right. We could see her grabbing a sword from some sort of safe that was there in the middle of the forest. After taking it Eva sprinted towards the Northern side of the forest but before she realised ...Lucifer jad already snatched the sword from her and came back.

"Ughh...Vampire speed!!!"- She said in exhaustion.

Now we heard another roar .

Lucifer took me up on his back and speeded towards the place where we heard the roar from. I could see Eva say " Well... I guess you win then....I can't go there....Its outside my boundary...I can't go out to Ohen-lipis....souls disappear in Ohen-lipis and them I suddenly saw the younger Eva beside her mouthing the words-"Aim for the eye" I nodded and looked towards Lucifer speeding towards the place as we spoke.

//Marial//

When we reached the place....our jaws dropped. It was a fire-breathing dragon that was about 100m tall . We could not even bear to hear her roar.

Although we needed to defeat her....she looked magnificent. Her eyes sparkling with red specks and her scales shiny and maintained .

I quickly transformed to my wolf form.

As I was about to charge, I saw Lucifer...his eyes started glowing red , his hair turned white and his fangs elongated.

I looked at him confusedly.

"You didn't think I spent one whole year in the mortal world without any sort of training did you?"-he said with a smirk.

"Nice job"- I said and we charged towards the fire dragon together.

I playef the role of the person to be distracting the dragon while Lucifer would aim for his eye with the celestial gold sword.

As I sprinted towards the dragon, she threw me away with just a swing of her humongous arm. I fell to the ground...ailing. My right arm was dislocated. It was going to be hard defeating this thing.

I heard a crack sound as I located my shoulder back with my other arm. My eyes were already teary. I saw Lucifer still trying to fight her with his stupendous amount of speed. No! I had to fight.

I walked upto Lucifer who was now smeared with blood. I took the sword and asked him to switch places.

Lucifer with his speed distracted the dragon and I pierced the sword in the dragon's left eye. I took out the sword and noticed the cut in her eye healing.

I looked at Lucifer in fear.

"The right eye "- he shouted but as I was about to stab the right eye she stabbed me with one of her claws. I was now back in my human form. My white dress was now covered with blood. I fell to the ground and clenched my fists.

I-I wasn't able to transform anymore. I-I was not being able to turn into my fierce side anymore. I saw Lucifer fighting but distracted by me,from the corner of my eye. The bleeding continued and I felt most of my power getting drained and then suddenly , we saw something . I s-saw my dad . His soul!!! He was rushing towards me . I-I burst into tears when I saw him. He did not embrace me . He pursed his lips giving me one last look and then he kneeled down . I saw a while trail coming from his body and its other end was attached to mine. I suddenly felt power in me. My wounds were healing and I was now stronger than ever. I looked up to thank my dad.....but he was nowhere to be found. Then I remembered what Eva had said-"Souls disappear in Ohen-lipis"

Tears escaped my eyes . Even in his soul form he did not think once about himself. I noticed Lucifer who was now drenched in blood and sweat and was breathingheavily on the ground. I transformed myself into my wolf form and now I was determined to kill that thing!

//Lucifer//

My whole body ached. I wasn't even abke to move my hand. I saw Marial , she ambled towards the dragon. I could see a fire burning in her eyes.

//Marial//

I went towards that thing and started striking it with the sword multiple times. I wasn't able to hit the right eye...not even once. Now I felt like anger engulfed me and I wasn't me anymore . I took the sword and stabbed it in my stomach.

//Lucifer//

I saw Marial as she stabbed her own self. For a while there I thought she was dead but instead of blood flooding out of her wound the sword was slowly... disappearing and she was glowing with a yellowish white colour.

"Y-Y a-absorbed it's powers"- I said as I watched her with astonishment.

"What? How ? I don't even know how to do that" as soon as she said that the dragon spouted fire towards her location.

She quickly dodged it and now I could see a deadly venom in her eyes.

//Marial//

Because of that thing my dad's soul dissapeared for ever. My eyes were moist and I was on the verge of tears when I noticed the dragon spout fire towards me. I dodged it and now I couldn't feel tears...I needed to finish this thing off for the sake of the people of my pack even the vampires now, for the sake of dad and for the sake of Lucifer....

With one jump now I was at the height of it's eyes . I felt glorious power rushing through my veins.

With one slash of my claws , I stabbed it in it's right eye.

I was back at the ground and then I saw the dragon sparkling. It jept sparkling and glittering until it was vanished.

I fell down on my knees. I felt my life draining away from me. My eyes they couldn't stay open.

I closed them and lay there until finally I heard some voices....unrecognizable voices they were.

//Lucifer//

I was awaken by a sharp ray of sunlight penetrating through the curtain of out Library.....wait library?! We are back?!

I quickly got up and looked around my surroundings.

Marial was beside me .....seriously why was I the only one who was up first !

I swayed her a million times until she eas finally up.

She rubbed her eyes and looked at me and then around her.

"Why are we back?!"-she asked horrified.

"Look!"- I said as I pointed towards a desk in front of us.

" That's it"

"Yeah!"

"So those are the geminae crystallini?"

"Yes"- I replied.

She looked at the crystals in awe.

"Wait we still need to complete the last part....the place where the first ray of sunshine falls ...do you know which is it?"

"Um...... the first.......wait I think it is the border"

"The what?!" She said in bewildered horror" How are we supposed to go to the border with all those rogues outside?"

As soon as we said that well let's just say we were surrounded by a couple of blood thirsty animals.....i mean we are always blood thirsty but these are cursed rogues ......

Lucifer quickly picked me up and raced towards the border by breaking through the glass window. Chunks of glass cut through my skin but right now all we had to worry about was this world.

I had completely forgotten about his supersonic speed . As we made our way through a large garden .... now filled with corpses of vampires and werewolves....we saw the rogues chasing us but they were slow and as I thought ...we had already reached the border .

" okay now we need to make them come in contact right...how do we do it?" I asked.

" Let me do it" he said as he walked towards the border. I was really worried...what if this didn't work? What if something were to happen to Lucifer right now.... I really don't know why but my sixth sense was tingling and I could sense- danger

After a few moments i found the reason to why I was worrying so much.

As soon as the crystals touched each other, a bright blinding ray of light evoked from them.

After the light subsided... everything was back to...normal?!

There were no rogues or corpses anymore.

Slowly curious vampires and werewolves gathered around me some with worried glances some with horror.

As I turned back I saw-

Lucifer was fuming with smoke and his body had black markings all over . His eyes were ....b-black and so was his now not-so-blonde hair.

The crystals fell from his hands and he fell to his knees clawing onto his head.

As I went near him....I was blasted off w-with something that had just come out of Lucifer's hands. It was sort of a laser but...it wasn't. I was sent flying back at least for a metre and a half and my body was now charred.

My eyes now locked at Lucifer....His body was now g-growing .....fangs?!

There were sharp white fangs growing from all over his body

Then his dark black eyes fell on mine and I knew that this wasn't Lucifer. Thjs was someone else and I could feel it - whoever it was that soul was absorbing all of Lucifer's powers bit by bit and I NEEDED to stop it....

Lucifer was consumed by the dark power that had somehow escaped while the stones were in contact...It was draining every bit of his powers one by one... I did not know what to do. I was dumbstruck. Lucifer looked hideously dangerous and he was no longer himself.

It was then that I thought- What if I were to consume the dark power... I could somehow transfer it to myself... I'm not sure what would happen to me if I did that but at least Lucifer would be safe.

I looked at him again he was still clawing and pressing his palms to his forehead,It was as if the real him was fighting against this immensely powerful thing from inside. I couldn't bear at seeing him in that way.

I plunged towards him as fast as I possibly could. I qas unaware of how to do what I had planned but that wasn't going to stop me from trying to save ...Lucifer... I-I've grown to like him in a way that I've never felt towards anybody...and that's why I need to save him at this instant.

I hugged him tight as soon as I reached him. He kept struggling under my arms.

I was out of magic power, I would not be able to transform now but I tried to contain him through my small mortal hands.

Seemingly , some of the fangs that had grown out of his cut through my hands causing them to bleed vigorously.

However after a few struggling minutes it was over. Lucifer was back...his black eyes were back to his yellow ones and the fangs just sparkled until they disappeared.

HOWEVER, I was becoming turbulent. My mind couldn't handle the pain. I screamed in agony cluching onto my head. The pain was unbearable and it intensified as I saw Lucifer lay unconscious on the ground.

That was the last thing I saw before passing out.

"Marial" I wispered as she lay cold beside me.

//Marial//

I woke up to find myself in an infirmary. Upon further looking I saw that Lucifer was laid in the bed just beside me. He was so badly hurt and then I realised that so was I.

Suddenly something caught my eye...I had a mark on my collarbone. It was a black designed mark. Lucifer had one too. I was confused because the last time ...I thought I was dead... Were we in heaven!?

As my disturbed mind was questioning every possible way of us ending up here I saw Ella, she was the best salutary in our pack. She smiled as she said " I guess you're awake then"

"Wait what happened...is everything alright!??" I asked impatiently

"Yes everything's back to normal...thanks to you and the vampire " she said.

"Is Lucifer okay?? Why isn't he awake yet and also what's with the weird marks on both of us"-I asked not being abke to comprehend anything.

"He is alrighy, probably just sleeping. As for the mark ...it looks like when you guys were being possessed by the dark magic at the border it scarred you..." she explained.

"Oh"

"So what's with you worrying over a vampire?" She asked raising her brow.

" Well he is my friend and-" before I could finish she started "Please I've known you from when you were just a Pup I know you more than you know yourself....Is he just a friend??"

I blushed furiously" W-Well I do feel kind of comfortable and myself when I'm around him a-and I guess I like him then"

"I know the whole time you were unconsious you kept mumbling his name."

She said.

"Wait what?? Did he hear??" I asked still with tinted cheeks.

" No he was passed out as well. He woke up in the middle once asking about you but then he again fell asleep."

"Oohh"

"He worries about you ya'know..and i see the way you guys look at each other." She said with a slow smile.

"But we are different...Will our people accept us?"

"Sure we will...I mean we ARE alive just cuz of you two aren't we?"

I laughed as she said that .

"I guess then"

"Well I'll leave you guys alone looks like he's awake" she said as she walked out of the room.

"Ughh My heads so heavy" Lucifer said as he woke up.

He looked towards me and said "Hey! Um..you okay?"

"Yeah mostly"I replied .

"Thanks for saving me back there"

"Its no big a deal ... I know you would've done the same thing for me" he blushed as I said that.

"Yea...Sooooo~ I guess its over huh! The fight i mean.... Everything's back to normal " he said.

"Yeah!" I said... It was awkward for a moment but then we started chatting like long lost friends . It was in that moment that I realised.....Lucifer makes me feel complete....I really do like him.

||2 months later||

I was waiting for Marial at the border... she asked me to meet her there. Now that all of us were allowed to cross the border no guardian wolves were there. Marial and I decided it'd be best if we ignored the border because everything would've been gone if we never met and never became friends.

"Hey " she said breaking me out of my thoughts.

" So you're finally here" I say.

"Yeah sorry for being late".

"Sooo why did you call me here? " I asked her.

"IkindalikeyousoIthoughtifyou'dgivemeachanceornot"

"What?!! Slow down"I said not understanding a single word she said.

"What I am saying in I like you and um..was wondering if you'd um...ya'know....you're making this really hard by looking at me you know"

"Wait did you just ask me out?? And say that you liked me!?"I said as I blushed.

"W-well yeah" she said.

"Um..okay!"

"Really " she said..i could see the glow in her brighy eyes.

"Sure " I said and then something unexpected happened...she hugged me. I was really taken aback but hugged her back .

She broke the hug and looked into my eyes...I did the same. I could see the sun rising from the corner of my eyes. I hated it cuz Vampires just can't handle sunlight but then I unconsciously did something happen that made me forget where I was ... I pulled Marial into a kiss. Soon she kissed me back and now all that mattered was...US..
