The Curse Of Witch

Once upon a time in a small village of southern India people were living a miserable life. The village was not densely populated and was surrounded by forest. The villagers use to lead a very simple life through farming. They worshiped Goddess Durga "The savior"from them. All the houses had idols of goddess and red thread tied on the main gate. They never use to leave the house after sunset.

The village was cursed by a witch .Any villager who use to be out of his house after sunset,was found dead in forest next day.

A forest officer was newly appointed to the village. He was posted from Tamil Nadu.He was a Brahman by caste and had full belief in the power of God.

He was surprised to see the red threads tied outside all the houses.He investigated and found about the curse of witch.

He decided to rescue the villagers from this trap and made a plan.He went to stroll late night in fields. After a while ,he could sense a shadow following him. As soon as he would turn it would disappear. He took out holy water in his hand and as he again sensed the shadow,he spilt the water behind him without turning. The witch caught fire due to holy water. She turned into ashes in a minute.

The villagers obliged him and lived happily thereafter.
