The Aurora

The Aurora

It was a strangely cold-chilly summer day when the aurora was born. he was the fifth child of his unfortunate poor family-poor in everything. Like others, even god too didn't show mercy to him. He was a physically disabled boy. He suffered from paraplogia in his lower body.

The story of his name was the only interesting part of his life. 8 years ago when he was inside his mom's womb, his dad as usual went to shine on other fortunate people's shoes near the airport when he heard a man talking about aurora lights. He took his breath away and decided to keep his next child's name aurora.

The day he was born, the night became colder and people mourned. Disability is a curse in a modern poor class of people. His dad tried all attempts to kill him but his mom stopped him one day during his last attempt saying '' my lord he could be used as a tool for begging because people give more money to those who are physically disabled.'' alash! She didn't know people now say you are differently abled but still alive so instead of begging try earning. Well, they were right but wrong too as they were unaware of the slap of poverty.

Aurora's dad was a drunkard and a strict supporter of his rigid religious beliefs. Once he was told by some fake religious leaders to go and spread his religion among the airport foreigners. The airport officials banned him from entering the arena. His leaders blamed him, in grief he started drinking as a result he suffered cancer. He died when the aurora was just five.

His mother did all kinds of jobs to provide proper nourishment to her children. She arranged to get aurora a crutch. Now he could also go and sell pens like his other siblings. He had a little sister who he loved more than his life. He saved a few coins to celebrate her fifth birthday.

Unlike any other cold winter day, it was more chilly and a kind of anxiety full. He went to his broken shack and wore the sweater which passed a bequest by his great-great-grandmother. It was very untidy and torn. He sat down beside his elder brother who was almost 25 years old. He was a part-time pick-pocket. He came back home with pockets filled with dirty paper gold. they waited for their mother's return. Thinking that she was busy with airport cleaning work they slept on empty stomachs, and only their little sister drank some rancid milk.his siblings had a cold hearts toward him, they despised him and threw their tantrums at him. They tried to unpeople him but failed because of their mom.

On the other hand their mother while returning back home with some cheap bread and eggs; got involved in a youth protest. She wasn't a part of it nor did she know the cause for it. The police officials and some non-officials who despised her looks had beaten her to death. She was crushed under the feet of escaping crowd, many stumbled and fell because of her lying body.

The next day morning the day was dull with no sunlight, colder than the previous day. The winds were giving me spine chills. The first snow of the season was falling. The highway was thronged with people and reporters. Some first come-first blame leaders also gathered near the heartwarming scene of the cold body lying on the cold road. One friendly match seller rushed into aurora's house and bawled them out. Intially elder siblings didn't go out but hearing that reporters were out, they went out with a sober face. Aurora took his sister along with him and rushed and actually hugged their mother, unlike their other siblings. The horrible sight of his mother covered in blood and dust with torn clothes covered with muddy footsteps made him howl with grief.

His crutch fell and was broken after coming under an expensive car of some white coat men. He cried as hard as he could. Hearing his heart-touching cries many sensitive people and leaders started to cry. His sister too couldn't contain herself. Some leaders fake promises to support the orphan's life after this. Some of them started to blame another party for the revolt causing her death.

''Momma! What will happen to these two kids?'', asked the sweet innocent little girl wearing a white dress.

''Their dad must be there to take care of them.'', replied her mom.

''He died long ago.'', said the match seller who was eavesdropping on the conversation.

Aurora cried and cried along with his little sister while his siblings got a chance to escape.

After some time of noisy blame games of politician leaders, they started to disappear just like the crowd. Only the crying kids and the match seller were left there in the bleak cold. At the last match, seller decided to go after saying-

''Mary will take care of you. Some ago will come and take you two in. You would be better if born in some different household.'' he turned back and walked through the dark cold evening fog. The muffle cries and sobs of the two were clearly heard. They both were hungry, with no willpower and energy. Soon they got covered in snow. He got filled with darkness as nightfall. He held his mother's and sister's hand tightly and sobbed to death. the night was too long for them so they cut it short.

it was the day when aurora lights were spotted in many parts of the world unknowingly. This news hid the news of the end of breathing aurora. The next day some people out of commiseration call out for the morgue to take the three cold bodies away from the highway. The 500 coins that aurora gathered lay scattered on the ground and were picked up by random strangers.

Maybe those aurora lights the night before represented his freedom and peace. Aurora is generally seen in three colours- red, green- yellow. Red is fake publicity and politics, alarming to stop. Green is the feeling of brotherhood that is a rare gem and yellow is the helplessness. These three things are the murderer of a living aurora.

The trio slept in a single grave which had no rose or tombstone yet was peaceful.
