That Smile

It was a rainy night when a teenage girl was returning from her school. Her school was 25 kilometers away from her home, she used to travel by a bus which had a fixed time. On that particular day, she got late and missed her bus. She wasn't able to find any conveyance to her home. Being soaked in heavy rain, she thought of not wasting her time and started walking towards her home.

She was walking and moving towards her dreams of illusion where she started thinking about her personal problems. She was the only child of her old and sick mother, her father ran away due to gambling and abandoned her mom when she was 6 years old. After that day, she decided to take good care of her mother. She became mature earlier than the normal kids. She was a beautiful, caring and responsible girl who was cheerful enough to make a sad person smile again but no one knew what she has gone through.

She never told her mother that she like that thing. Suddenly she recalled a memory although blurry but was enough to make anyone understand her tolerance capability. She once was ordered by her teacher to bring a notebook for important revisions but she knew that her mother went through a lot of pain just to pay her school's fees, she couldn't ask more to her hardworking mother. So, she dropped that idea and didn't do anything. After a week, she was abused by her teacher for being poor and careless but she didn't reply.

Although the teacher got fired because of her ill behavior that mental torture made her weak. She couldn't stand people making fun of her hence she started maintaining distance with others. Everyone thought she was arrogant . They left her but she was glad.

She suddenly stopped and smiled. It was her lover who was standing in front of her, waiting to pick her up. She was happy to see him. He was the one who helped her mother a lot. He treated her mother very well and made her happy. He was a genuine nice-hearted person one could have ever seen. He was a young boy of 20, son of a Zamindar, who was known for his polite nature and well-mannered etiquettes.

He fell in love with our protagonist when he was young. He went overseas to study and came back after ten years. No one would think that he still loved that girl. Now, both of them are together and their parents are happy as well.
