Spider Husband

Neha was a good girl whose marriage was arranged with Rajiv, a decision made by her grandfather and grandmother. Neha was an only child, and her parents had passed away in a car accident. Rajiv owned a small shop and did not earn much, but Neha was happy despite that. Little did she know that Rajiv was a narcissist and a toxic person, which she would come to realize in her role as his wife.

Rajiv moved with Neha to the city, thinking of starting another business as his earnings were low. They moved into a rented house, and upon arriving, Neha found it to be small and very dirty, with a lot of spider webs that she could not clean thoroughly. As days passed, they both went to sleep one night, but the next day Rajiv left to look for work and went to his little shop, which was not doing well. After a few days, the landlord fired Rajiv, leading him to come home drunk often. Neha asked him what he was doing, but Rajiv yelled at her to stop asking questions. If Neha inquired why he came home late, he would hit her. This became a daily routine.

Neha had a dream of going out with her husband to take lots of photos, but that did not happen. One Sunday, she thought of cheering Rajiv up and suggested they both find a job in clothing since his work was not going well. She asked to go out and enjoy the beautiful weather since they had no photos together after the wedding, let alone in this new city. However, upon hearing this, Rajiv beat her and locked her in a room. Neha got injured and couldn't eat anything that night.

The next day, while Rajiv was at work, Neha dried her tears and got to work. She noticed more spider webs forming in the house. Just then, there was a knock on the door; it was her neighbor, who introduced herself and mentioned she enjoyed making new friends. Neha, being reserved, didn't say much, just asked if she wanted some tea, to which the neighbor declined. The neighbor noticed Neha's injury and inquired about it, and Neha said she fell in the washroom. The neighbor then casually mentioned she needed help with her son's fancy dress competition and invited Neha to join her in shopping.

Neha initially hesitated, saying she was busy. But the neighbor insisted, saying the competition was in five days and that Neha would get bored at home. After a short back-and-forth, Neha agreed to go with her neighbor. They went shopping for the fancy dress. Suddenly, Neha spotted a spider costume and remembered something, deciding to buy it. Upon returning home, she saw more spider webs and thought about how many husbands might be like spiders, trapping innocent people in their webs.

Rajiv returned home and noticed Neha wasn't at home and asked who she was with, becoming aggressive and beating her again. This time, Neha defended herself and confided to the neighbor’s husband about Rajiv's toxic behavior. The police officer confronted Rajiv and warned him, telling him he would face consequences for his actions. Neha then expressed a wish to the officer, saying she had never taken a single photo with Rajiv. She wanted to wear the spider costume and take a photo with him to showcase him as a spider husband, illustrating how girls should stay away from such spider-like men and their traps. This photo would inspire Neha and serve as a reminder to the world.
