Once upon a time in a small town in Bangladesh, there lived a young man named Abir. He was passionate about the English language and literature, and his dream was to study at one of the world's most prestigious universities. After years of dedication and hard work, Abir achieved his goal and was accepted into the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Oxford. Abir's journey to Oxford had been challenging, particularly when it came to spoken English. He had always struggled with pronunciation since childhood, and even though he scored an impressive band 8 in the IELTS, he knew that he couldn't formulate speech as fluently as he desired. However, he didn't let that deter him; Abir was determined to prove himself as a dedicated student and to succeed in his chosen field.

In his second year at Oxford, Abir attended a class taught by a professor from his native country. The professor was known for his objectivity and treated all his students fairly, grading their papers without knowing whose work he was evaluating. He encouraged his students to become writers for humanity, instilling a sense of purpose and responsibility in them. As Abir progressed to his third year, he faced a crucial decision. He had to choose between specializing in linguistics or literature. Abir's heart was drawn towards literature, as he felt a deep connection to storytelling and the power of words. However, there was an English native-speaking professor at Oxford who didn't view Abir's choice positively. He believed that Abir's English language skills were not up to par for literature specialization.

One day, after class, the professor called Abir aside to have a conversation. "Abir, I have reservations about your decision to specialize in literature," he said candidly. "Your English proficiency is not at the level required for this field, and I'm concerned that you might struggle." Abir's heart sank, and he felt a mix of fear and determination. He gathered the courage to respond, "Professor, please give me a chance. I know I have difficulty with spoken English, but I am passionate about literature. I promise to work harder and prove myself."

The truth was that the professor's concern stemmed from something deeper. He feared that if Abir became a writer and delved into literature, he might expose the hypocrisy and corruption prevalent in their society. The professor was worried that Abir's writing could become a threat to those in power, and he sought to protect him by discouraging him from his chosen path. However, Abir was undeterred. He understood the underlying message but was determined to prove his capabilities. He continued to work hard, seeking assistance from language tutors and practicing his pronunciation tirelessly. With the support of his classmates and friends, Abir found the strength to ignore the negative voices and pursue his passion for literature.

Throughout his third year, Abir excelled in his literature courses, writing eloquently and analyzing profound literary works with insight and passion. He also found solace in writing short stories and poems, which allowed him to express himself creatively and bridge the gap between his thoughts and spoken words. As graduation day approached, Abir's perseverance paid off. He graduated with honors, specializing in English literature, and the professor who had doubted him had no choice but to acknowledge his talent and dedication. Abir's journey had just begun. After returning to Bangladesh, he continued to write and share his stories, shining a light on the societal issues that plagued his homeland. Despite the challenges he faced, Abir's courage and determination inspired others to pursue their dreams fearlessly, regardless of their background or circumstances. He became a symbol of hope for many aspiring writers and a living example of the power of literature to bring about positive change in the world. Through his words, Abir not only found his voice but also gave voice to those who were silenced and oppressed, truly becoming a writer for humanity.
