Life is full of ups and downs, but we firmly believe that life itself is a lesson as well as a source of inspiration. We frequently get inspired by others. I am going to share a personal experience from my life. Hope, it can inspire others.
When I was in 12th standard, I had surgery on the tail bone. I was a very introverted person and was not able to share this with my parents. But who can hide it from my elder sister, who was always taking care of me? I was studying in the evening and suddenly I had back pain on the tailbone side. I was not able to walk and sit. My didi noticed and realized that I had some problem. She was asking me, Bubun, what happened? Why you are not able to sit, feeling some pain? I didn’t reply. Then she held and asked seriously and started scolding, ‘why you are not sharing with me? Your silence may hurt you as well as others too. After a couple of minutes, I told her that I had had tailbone pain for the past 3 days.
Upon hearing this, didi went to mom’s room and revealed everything. Then they booked an appointment with a general physician. The doctor asked many questions and checked that particular area where I had pain. He immediately tracked a date for the surgery and finally, I was admitted to the hospital.
I was a bit nervous because nobody was with me. At the age of 17, being alone in the hospital, (my father came and completed all the formalities), my confidence level was down and I was crying. Then a girl next to my bed asked me about my problem. I expressed to her, and then the girl told me about her pain point that she is suffering from cancer since the age of 17 and now she is 22 years old.
Hearing this, I paused for a minute and got some confidence from her words. The next day, I had surgery and the doctor appreciated that I was not at all nervous and became relaxed. Finally, the surgery was successful.
After that my father came and met the doctor. The doctor discharged me within 2 days.
So, from this story, we can learn that we are fortunate enough to have small problems in our life. There are people in this world who have incurable and life-threatening diseases. So never lose hope.
