Rajasthan is called the ‘Royal State of India’. Most tourists like to visit India because of the wonderful experience of vacation, luxury, adventure and safari, wildlife expedition, tourism, and cultural and ethnic tourism and Rajasthan has these all to offer visitors. Rajasthan is one of the most popular tourist destinations of India appealing to tourists, travelers, adventure lovers, and wildlife lovers, and honeymoon couples from all over the world. If you love the colors and cultures, Rajasthan is the best tourist place. Every place has its unique name. Jaipur is called the ‘Pink City, Jaisalmer the ‘Golden City, Jodhpur is ‘Blue city’ while the beautiful Udaipur is called the ‘Lake City. The charming beauty of Rajasthan has its multi glimpses and withered beauty.

A few years ago, I went to Rajasthan in October. It was winter and the climate was chill and too withered to feel dry skin. If you do not apply moisturizer, your skin will be cracked. The temperature was very low and too chill to go out. We started our journey from Delhi by train. From Delhi to Jaipur, the journey was wonderful. We crossed many tunnels and rivers, enjoyed the scenic view, sanctuaries, and colorful sands. It was 4 hours 15 minutes journey. We reached at 2 pm at noon. We booked a hotel and went directly. The journey was a total of 20 days.

Let’s have a look at some mesmerizing beauty of places of this state. There is plenty of vibrancy, cultures, religions, and ethnicity, various cuisines to mingle with traditions that we realized in the award-winning movie of Satyajit Ray’s “Sonar Kella”. A perfect blending of ethnicity and cultures was raised through the characters of Feluda, Topshe, and Dr. Biswas. The camel in the desert, the special instruments that Rajasthan people used, the ethnic forts of Bikaner, the lake all created beautifully in this film. So, Rajasthan means “Sonar Kella” and the shriveled beauty. The smell of sands, architectural forts- in every hue in Nature's grand palette-the red sands, the blue of royalty, the pink cities, or the amber sunsets. Capitulate yourself to the sounds of trinkets or the rhythm of the all-conquering wind. Sight and sounds that are far removed from any city. Music, art, and dance all are interwoven into every inch of this land of paradise. Let us come, walk into the unforgettable embrace of Rajasthan.

Jaipur-the Pink city

Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and is popularly known as “Pink City”. Embedded with large avenues and gardens, this city is covered with history and culture. We can see many Maharajas and kings belonged to Jaipur. The magnificent forts and palaces blushed pink, the market is full of jewelry ornaments fabric, and shoes, possess a timeless quality, and are a treasure-island for the shoppers.

The beauty of ‘Hawa Mahal’ and ‘City Palace' architectural designs and decoration of all the interiors were appreciable and advanced. If you miss the inner beauty of majestic Hawa Mahal and how scientifically it was built, you could not discover the plan. If you stand in any corner of the mahal, the air will come from every side of the palace. It is known as Hawa Mahal. How gently this breeze blow! This is the specialty of this palace. Many tourists come to visit every year to feel the alluring and panoramic view of Jaipur.

Udaipur

Udaipur is a beautiful city full of lakes. It is the crowning jewel of royal Rajasthan. Rendered with lakes visible from every rooftop, fairy-tale palaces, sprawling Havelis, ancient temples and narrow lanes weaving through colorful markets are remarkable for the city’s ancient history and culture. Udaipur is also referred to as the Venice of the East, a title it has owned for being dotted with numerous lakes! Nestled in the mighty Aravalli range, surrounded by dense forests and craggy hills, and magical sunrises and sunsets turning its lakes into pools of gold, Udaipur is the most stunning picturesque destination of Rajasthan. Tourists can enjoy the mesmerizing and tranquil beauty and boat riding on Lake Pichola, Rajasthani folklore and dance performances of the LGBT community and famous personalities, delicious mouth-watering cuisine or drive out of the city to explore legends hidden in the wooded Aravalli hills and the impenetrable forts dotting its surroundings. Undoubtedly, no wonder then, Udaipur is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country!

Jodhpur

Jodhpur is located on the edge of the desert. The city is called the ‘Blue City’ as it looks completely blue from a panoramic view because of its blue walls and blue houses. Majestic palaces and temples around the city add to the remarkable splendor of this city. The climate of Rajasthan is very hot and dry in summer and very chill in winter. The people of Jodhpur are warm and their enthusiasm during the famous Marwar festival is catching. Jodhpur of today is known for its stunning handicrafts, folk dances, folk songs, and also the brightly dressed people.

Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer means “Sonar Kella” in my eyes. The entire shoot of Satyajit Ray’s ‘Sonar Kella’ occurred in Jaisalmer. When I went to Jaisalmer, I was overwhelmed to see the suiting spot of Sonar Kella, the camel, the folklore and the traditional music, the instruments played by Rajasthanis. Jaisalmer meaning ‘the Hill Fort of Jaisal’ is a destination where camels are seen in abundance, an iconic hill-fort stands above the city with imposing walls where the best examples of par-brilliance inscriptions are found. The tasty cuisine, camels riding are a bit challenging; the various arts and crafts are the specialties of Jaisalmer. The ‘Thar’ desert is one of the remarkable places to experience a lifetime trip in your life.

Apart from Gadi Sagar Lake, there are also other very beautiful places like Jaisalmer Fort, Salim Singh Ki Haveli, Patwa Ki Haveli, Vyas Chhatri, Mandir Palace, etc and Sam Sand Dunes and Camel Safari are also very attractive places.

Mount Abu

Mount Abu is the hill station of Rajasthan. The chill atmosphere, the scenic beauty of sunrise, charming music, the Ghoomar dance and other popular and prismatic dance form includes Kathaputali, Bhopa, Chang, Teratali, Ghindar, Kachchighori, Tejaji, Parth, and several others. This eye-catching hill station is home to beautiful lakes, waterfalls, and green forests. Mount Abu also has houses of sanctuary where one can spot animals such as langur, sambar, wild boar, and leopards.

Chittorgarh

Chittorgarh is a place where you can feel the ancient flavor of Rajput’s bravery, pride, and passion. This fort is related to the violent battles of Rana Pratap Singh and the silver lining of victory, thrice in its entire history.

Bikaner

Bikaner’s variety of snacks is world-famous. It is famous for the taste of tradition. Bikaner Bhujia, a spicy snack made from moth dal and gram flour.

Colorful Culture of Rajasthan

The royal Rajasthan has multi-culture, so it is called the “Cultural Capital of India”. It is the “Land of Maharajas”. From the costumes to its food habits, Rajasthan still adheres to its diverse traditions and rich cultures. Blending with faiths, practices, diversities, Rajasthan showcase a vibrant display of cultures. Life in the desert land is all about traditional ways of living. With the architecture, costumes, cuisines, local dialects, arts and crafts, its fairs and festivals, you can feel the real taste of traditions and unique charm and plethora of celebrations while traveling around the state. In October month, there were many festivals of arts and crafts, traditional dance, music; Munni bai and Chunni bai’s Ghoomar dance-all were breathtaking.

I attended a carnival of dance and music. I saw different vibrancy on their dresses and jewelry, which was beautifully arranged by the Rajasthanis. The Rajasthani thali made my appetite strong and yummy. Talking about the taste and texture of foods, it was so rich and tasty, everybody will love it. The casual wear was so ethnic and trendy; I bought many dresses and traditional dresses.

The camel riding was a thrilling experience and so adventurous! While riding on a camel, I was a bit excited because the camel’s back was very high from the ground. When a camel sits, first it pushes up the back legs and then pulls up front, so if you do not hold properly, there’s a full chance to fall. So hold tightly while riding on a camel. The rhythmic walks of a camel made me fabulous. I had an excellent experience. I know the camel’s slow and rhythmic walk left you painful because your tummy will be very troubled while walking. Rajasthan’s streets, small lakes, dry soil, and deserts attracted me and loved the scent of royals, the yummy thalis, and ethnic wear.
