There was a village named Kishangarh. In that village, a man lived named Rameshwar. He lived with his wife Kaveri and son Ankit.

Rameshwar and Kaveri were very old-fashioned and they always compared girls with boys and that's why before having a son they had given birth to three daughters but they killed them. Ankit wanted to study more after college and for this, he needed to go to a very big city. But his parents never allowed him to go and that's why always there was a dispute between Ankit and his parents. However one day Ankit said to his parents "Please let me go and do my further studies in the city". But his parents didn't agree. But still Ankit thought of a plan because he wanted to do his further studies. And one night he ran away from his house, packing his stuff with carrying 50 rupees with him.

Next day he reached the city. He was very hungry so he went to a tea stall for drinking tea. He asked to the woman who was selling the tea "How many rupees for one cup of tea"? The woman told "20 rupees". Ankit said no to the tea. And he sat on the ground beside the tea stall. Soon it was evening and Ankit sat from Morning to evening. Then the old woman at the tea stall said "Who are you ? And why are you sitting over here since morning to evening ? Your parents would be worried for you. Well whatever my name is Ramola". Ankit said "I have came from a village to this town and I need a job. Can you give me a job, Amma ? In your tea stall what are the works ? I can do everything". Ramola agreed and Ankit did some of the works like washing glasses, bringing ingredients for tea etc. He works very hard. At day he works at the tea stall and at night he sleeps on the railway station.

One day Ramola told Ankit "Ankit, I am getting older and older and I can't sell tea anymore so that's why I am thinking to sell this stall to anyone. So Ankit that's why I am requesting you to look out for a new job". Ankit said "Amma, don't worry I will buy this shop, well I don't have money but I will work for you. I will do a the work and earn money. Is that ok, Amma ? Ramola said "Well, I need to sell the shop and you are working for me then it's ok". Then Ankit sold tea but also pakodas. And then after some months he also started selling jalebis, samosas, gulab jamuns etc. Because of this more people came to his shop and also people took snacks from Ankit for their parties. Ankit was having a great income, so he gave the stall to Ramola and soon he opened a small shop were different types of snacks and tea was available. Also after that his income was double of the income he had before. Ankit opened a big shop and in there he also sold some fast foods like Chowmin, Roll, Dosa etc. Now big orders were also coming and his shop has a great reputation in the area. He also made his own home by the labourers and lived there. Beside his shop, there was a shop and a girl worked there named Nidhi. Ankit and Nidhi were great friends and they didn't know when their friendship turned into love. They liked each other and soon they got married.

One day at the bungalow Ankit said to Nidhi "Nidhi, I think I should now go and meet my parents and tell them to come here". Nidhi said "Sure, call them. You go and I will do some decoration for their arrival". Ankit agreed. He went to his village Kishangarh and arrived at his parents' home. He greeted his parents and said "Papa and mummy, I have myself well settled and I have a great income. I have married to Nidhi. She is my wife now". His parents felt proud of Ankit and they congratulated for his marriage and gave blessings to him. They said "We will definitely come to your house and we will live there but we will come after 3-4 months because we have a little bit of work". Ankit agreed. Then he went to the city and Nidhi's health wasn't correct so he took him to the hospital. The doctor there checked Nidhi and said to Ankit "Congratulations, your wife gave birth to a girl". Ankit was very happy and he quickly went into the room and looked at his baby girl. They named their baby girl Rishika. Then after 2 days Ankit and Nidhi went to their home with their cute baby.

After 3-4 months Ankit's parents arrived at his home. Ankit and Nidhi welcomed his parents and when they saw their baby girl, his mother said "Ankit what I say that it would have been nice if Nidhi had given birth to a boy but she gave birth to a girl. There is so much expenditure for a girl". Nidhi said "Maa ji, there is no comparison in today's world between girls and boys. Both are equal". After saying this also they weren't agreed about this thought.

After 1 year, one night Nidhi said to Ankit "Ankit, why your parents are doing this comparison between girls and boys"? Ankit said "They are just old fashioned and nothing else and also they are very polite". Nidhi said "No, they are not old fashioned nor polite. They are comparing. Ankit yesterday your mother was saying "Nidhi, if I would have been present in the hospital then I would have killed your daughter there". Ankit became angry on his mother and tomorrow decided to talk with his parents. Tomorrow morning, Ankit said to his parents "Why mummy you told like this to Nidhi about our Rishika ? Also I just knew that you are old fashioned and that's why you are comparing but today I knew you really don't like girls at all. Well whatever, today is Rishika's First birthday so I have arranged a party and please don't talk about Rishika like this with the guests".

At the night guests came to his party. But Ankit's parents were upset because Ankit was spending all this money for a girl. The party was over. Ankit's parents said "Now party is over, now let's go ahead and sleep". Ankit said "No, some guests still need to arrive. Actually their flight was a little late that's why they are going to arrive now. They will be just arriving here at any minute". His parents asked "Who are they"? Ankit replied "They are the business investors. They also wanted to see Rishika". After listening business investors are coming they were very happy to meet them. After some time the bell rang and Ankit opened the door. They are the business investors. Ankit greeted them and they also greeted Ankit. There were three investors who came. They came inside their house and sat on the sofa. When Ankit's parents saw that the three investors were actually girls, they understood that girls can handle the home as well as handle the whole world. After the investors went out of their house. Ankit's parents said this thing to Ankit and Nidhi and they took a vow that they would never compare between boys and girls and also they are equal at their own terms. Ankit and Nidhi became very happy after listening this. Ankit's parents played with Rishika and gave her love and affection. After that, Ankit's whole family lived happily forever.

Moral- We shouldn't compare boys and girls and we should stop this comparison. If you see someone doing this then make them understand this and stop this nonsense ritual that girls are always inferior to boys. This story's aim is to help saving girl child and create awareness of this term "SAVE GIRL CHILD"
