Rumination At Night...In This Little Light

Rumination at night by the window side, in this little light: The friend who in childhood lamented the tragic death of a tiny ant and then befittingly performed its funeral, her innocence pops up and makes my heart smile. The recollection of the enormous embarrassment caused by the poorly delivered pick-up line and the feeling sometimes gets amplified. Will AI (Artificial Intelligence) reign and the multitudes will become unemployable? Religious zealots or atheists, after four decades whose ideology will thrive? The demands of the 21st century (kingdom of uncertainty) steps-up the edginess and sometimes gives a fright. The abrupt recollection of momentary apathy that hindered the misfortunate from being helped followed by the submerging guilt, torments the "human" inside. Urge to catch-up with that clown cum classmate after a long gap, also itches the soul sometimes.

Were the emotions genuine or just another maudlin show? For the bewildered heart at present, it's hard to determine. Blazing temper that ruined things but now the regret is intensified. Spoken and unspoken words, which ones should have been the other way round? The brain embarks on the analysis ride. After hours of pondering, the sense whispers- “some things are irrevocable”, and the heart accepts the verdict in hindsight. Still few tears for the things that can’t be undone, roll down the cheeks ,in this little light.

Waves of memories, a cornucopia of possibilities keep roving in the mind and then unfurl in this little light.

"एक बार वक्त से, लम्हा गिरा कहीं

एक बार वक्त से, लम्हा गिरा कहीं

वहाँ दास्ताँ मिली, लम्हा कहीं नहीं

थोडा सा हँसा के, थोडा सा रुला के

पल ये भी जानेवाला है"
