I Am...... So What If?

I am a humanitarian. So what if I don't allow my housemaid to take a day off even in the most desperate circumstances? I believe that God resides in the soul of every child. So what if I give my housemaid's children a condescending look every time they enter my house and long to watch television? Martin Luther King Jr.is my biggest inspiration. So what if my definition of racism is limited to "black v/s white"? I am an animal lover. So what if I truly believe that animal-sacrifice is the commandment of divine power and is meant to be done for cleansing in specific "holy months"? I am secular. So what if I would prefer my cab driver to be someone belonging to a specific caste?

I am a feminist. So what if I am pointlessly bitching about my partner's ex just because she happened to be present at a certain time? I am a women rights advocate. So What if I want my sister in law to be submissive to the dictates of my patriarchal family? I believe in equality. So what if I demand unreasonable alimony from my husband despite being employed and financially secure? I am everything that the #hashtag wants me to be. The moment I log in, I am the reincarnation of Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Virginia Woolf, Abraham Lincoln, all at once. Tell me the hashtag that's trending and I will let that spirit dominate. There is only one misfunction. As soon as I logout, these supreme angelic qualities log out from my soul and memory too.

P.S: The biggest foe of humanity is not some abstract form of Satan, it's the pretense of humanitarianism.
