It has been 48 years since what started as just another summer morning on July 20th, 1973 turned out to be such a shocking and unbelievable receiving of sad news. As I pulled the rubber band off and unrolled the local newspaper I immediately saw his face on the front page along with the headline that read, "Martial Arts Superstar Bruce Lee Dies at 32" The surprise, disbelief and sadness immediately set in. This was the year and only year when the genre of martial arts films arrived to the drive-in and theatres of America. I was immediately a fan of this actor / star who seemed to just jump off the movie screen and introduce such a strong persona and relatable character to a new generation of action films.

His films " The Big Boss and Fist of Fury" were released  almost simultaneously back to back. Sadly, three weeks before the release of the film that would bring him international worldwide fame Enter The Dragon,  Bruce Lee slipped into a mysterious coma and passed away. I will always remember his way of fighting, his wisdom and his philosophy on life. There are many people who helped mold me into the person that I am today and he was one of the most important people that had a positive impact on my life. To this day I still watch his movies in amazement like it was the first time that I saw him throw that kick and punch and that unforgettable "KIIIIYYAA"! Thank you Bruce for sharing your talent and beliefs with the world and being the legend that you are and always will be. You will never be forgotten the master of "Jeet Kun Do"
