Pride And Peacock

Once upon a time, there lived a peacock in the jungle. He was very beautiful and he was very proud of being so. One can say he was a narcissist. He was the talk of the jungle due to his beauty and among those who knew him, his annoying self-obsession. 

So the daughter of Sun fell in love with him. She asked her father to get her married to him. Sun agreed as to him, his daughter's happiness was of utmost importance. Peacock was called to the palace where Sun asked him to marry his daughter.

Though he threw tantrums in the beginning, in the end, he agreed to marry her. They got married. Everything went well except when the peacock's self-obsession became evident. He would wear the best clothes, the finest jewelry, pamper himself all day and hence there was no time for her. She complained about it to his father who called peacock to his palace. When peacock didn't agree to him, Sun sent him back to Earth.

Poor daughter realizing her mistake to marry him only for his beauty started crying and when her tears fell on peacock, they gave his feathers their signature pattern. Since Sun threw him out of his palace, peacock still rejoices and dances when grey clouds cover Sun.
