The truth about pain

The truth about pain

"That's the thing about pain. It demands to be felt. "

Do you wanna know what the worst part about pain is? Being numb to it. Having gotten so used to it all your life that it doesn't affect you anymore. It doesn't hurt. It passes right through you.

Being alone...in your thoughts. Having fallen so far down the rabbit hole and not having anyone notice that you're gone. Crying yourself to sleep every single night cause it's the only thing that makes you feel better. The horror of one day looking in the mirror and not noticing yourself.

I think that pain has no real definition. It's experienced differently by each individual. Some use it as an escape, others fear and condemn it. In the end, we're all facing our own battles. We all got our demons to fight and we go through it alone. People can guide you but they can't fight for you. The choice is yours and something you just have to trust that you'll make the right one.

Real pain, according to me, is waking up one day and being ignored and pushed away by the people closest to you. It hurts you to a point where you don't ever want to be close to someone again for fear of ending up in the same situation. Even the people closest to you can end up disappointing you. And when they do, which they inevitably will, do not let that get you down. Do not use that as an excuse to shut down but instead as a wake-up call to find better people to hang out with. Don't be with people just cause your users to them. Step out of your comfort zone. Experience new things.

"Pain is a key part of our lives. Without it, we would never know joy."

I feel like people don't fully understand that quote. You have to have failures to succeed. You have to be humbled and willing to change your ways. At least that's my opinion on it.
