Old Age Home
Old Age Home
Have you ever thought of the reasons for emerging old age homes?
Once I got an opportunity to visit an old age home. I met many old couples who were longing for the love, care, and affection of their children.
I got a chance to have a friendly talk with one of the old couple. They told that their children left them here and went abroad. They would send money to this home monthly.
I inquired about their past life. They were living a cosy life. They had two sons and a daughter. Both of them were working in an MNC. They were earning money for their children's future.
Both of them didn't get time to take care of their children. The children were brought up by an old maidservant. Almost she was like their parent. The couple had different shifts and couldn't spend time with their children on weekdays.
On weekends, they would take rest and rarely go out for a movie, shopping, park, picnic, and restaurant.
Even, if their children asked them some help with their studies also, they couldn't do it. Sometimes, on weekends also, they were doing their office works.
Rarely, they had gone out for dinner. The children would be happy to spend time with their parents.
The children spent much time with their maidservant. They would call her Grandma'. As she didn't have any family, she would take care of these children as her grandchildren'.
Children shared their sorrows and happiness with grandma'. She narrated stories to the kids and sang lullabies to them. The couple's daughter was fond of that grandma'. She would call her Momma'. She was the youngest of all and a naughty girl.
The couple did not know what their children like and dislike. They missed enjoying many adorable things that they could get from their children.
The old maid advised them, Anyone of you leave your job for the sake of your children and look after them unless you will suffer in the future.' But the couple was not willing to leave their job. Their children were growing up and didn't listen to their parents' advice.
Then the couple thought to send them to a residential school. Their children begged them, We want to be with you, Momma, Papa, please don't send us.”
Their parents were iron-willed about it. With a dolorous heart, their children left their parents and that grandma.
Children hugged their grandma very tightly, with tearful eyes, they went to school.
Years passed. The couple's children had completed their school education and got graduation. They got a job in foreign countries. As they were growing old, they thought to arrange wedding for their children. Children's wedding held in a grand manner.
A couple of months later, their children got a VISA. A day before they left their home, they took their parents to a place.
It was Akshaya Old Age Home. When the couple entered that old age home premises, they understood the situation.
Their first son told, "We will transfer money to your account monthly and will visit you once a year."
The couple was shocked to hear it. They didn't get time to look after their children when they were young.
"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."
Will you agree?
WHAT YOU SOW, YOU WILL REAP.
