"NOISIV"

My each day....of the previous year... Started, from waking late in the morning, fumbling weekly…. Returning from a long, tiring journey. A journey from the lands of fear and hopelessness. A place where I was all ‘alone’, surrounded by the mists of “night” and “nightmares”. And then! Suddenly, I was back! I used to get out of my bed… Tearing, the ultimate darkness and resilience of my room and heart. I began the day, sitting glued to the sofa, hounding the screens of the television, trying to find something.... Don't know what... and why? I was alone. The pandemic, riots, infection, deaths, havoc… everything was scanning through my mind… One by one….. 

For months, I didn’t open the windows and the doors of my house. Why should I, do I have a reason? My mother wasn’t there, at the front porch, to hold my hand and say, “Hey little brat, what did you do this time? Carole was complaining, again! Come here, don’t run, let me give you a treat! 

Few days ago, I met someone. After meeting her, I realized something…..The beauty of nature, the “power in hopes”. She asked me to draw the curtains of the house and let the sunshine peep in. She asked me to “celebrate” with new hopes for the “new beginnings”. She taught me to “feel” the beauty of nature, sky, plants, the sounds of air tapping your ear drums, gently! She told me the power of a positive attitude, hopes, aspirations and beliefs. The belief for a “better dawn”, a “better morning”, a “better life”. Yesterday, I met her, she asked me to prepare a placard with the letters “NOISIV” (the next time we met). I stood in front of her. She was smiling, a new shine reflected clearly in her eyes! I could see…. The magic… “NOISIV” changing to “VISION”. Lateral inversion. I understood the message she wanted to convey- ‘to hold on the ‘vision’ for a better future and never lose hopes’. I smiled. She smiled back. She is the same brat I see every day in front of the mirror……
